Made an offer special ... didn't offer 200 guys hoping people stuck ... was treated as a serious offer instead of some hype show ... never showed up to HS events in a party bus with drinks free flowing.FreeChavez said:I don't recall what style chipper had as I don't follow it all that much, especially for other schools. What did Chip do which was similar?

Kelly: didn't accept a commitment until a kid visited campus and showed real interest in the school and program. Sold Oregon:s program to kids and parents by sitting down and explaining why Oregon was special. No dog and pony shows for recruits.
Compare that to Sark and his frat: Showing up at kids houses in UW helmets and barking like dogs. Calling commits of other schools and "proposing" to them. All American game party bus. Playing Madden on the huskytron. Selling the program with light shows, music, and PowerPoint presentations. -
Are we good now or do you want to keep going?

Chip is a no nonsense guy, but Oregon recruited with plenty of sizzle that comes automatically from Nike, the uniforms, and facilities.

If Sark did the same recruiting tactics as Kelly, would Sark have gotten any recruits?bananasnblondes said:

Didn't Oregon make custom Jordan's for one of their recruits who was a known huge Air Jordan shoes fan?
-
UPDATE: Kim says that Petersen is getting a lot of buzz right now because "it's early in the process and kids don't know much yet" and "they develop relationships with coaches and narrow things down over time". He also says Petersen is adjusting by giving out a lot more offers than other schools and that's another reason UW is getting a lot of buzz.
As another poster pointed out, UW has given the 6th most scholarship offers in the Pac-12.

It's unfortunate that people let facts get in the way of Kim's message.

I remember that "incident" but it proved to just be rumor. Sounds like something Kim would have made up when he thought Oregon was getting the death penalty.Doogles said:Didn't Oregon make custom Jordan's for one of their recruits who was a known huge Air Jordan shoes fan?

At the first mention of Sark, Kim comes out guns blazing calling out "over the top posters" and threatening to send anyone who bashes Sark to the corner for a timeout. This is getting so predictable that KG is basically a caricature of himself.
