But how is Helfrich a bad coach?

I like to compare a team in the top half of the Pac-12 with an FCS school 'cause I'm fucking stupid like that and it's what I like to do.PurpleThrobber said:Works both ways. Baldwin has lived off D-1 transfers.

If I were Baldwin I wouldn't say a word, but Adams would only last 1 game in Autzen, I would be sure of that.
He is also a very, very good coach. His staff, and the stud receiver Adams was "throwing dimes to" got zero credit for that Washington game. -
The Bruin is right about everything except writing in your diary. Instead, you'll just post 20 more articles from the Oregonian speculating on which Eugene trailer park the parade is going to come through.BallSacked said:I'm hearing that AzQook is gonna be so butt hurt over that article he may write about it in his diary.

Oh no, Oregon didn't win the off-season natty. USC has that shit locked up.

Although it comes off a little like sour grapes, I think I totally agree with everything Baldwin said. Now, Im not sure its in his best interests to say it out loud, but what did he say that wasnt true? Why the hell would he want him in their facility? My first thought when I heard this was "how does a top 5 team not have qb good enough to play after 3 years?"
The problem is the rule. Schools and players are using this loophole for an unintended purpose. Not anyones fault, like anything, people are going to stretch the rules as far as they legally can. -
In a world where you can redshirt, graduate in four years and be suddenly seniored because your douchebag corch thinks you didn't "earn" a fifth year, this rule as it's being applied is a dose of sanity. It might not be the intended purpose but it should be.BayDawg said:Although it comes off a little like sour grapes, I think I totally agree with everything Baldwin said. I have no issue with him not letting Adams use their training facilities, that's totally fair. I did find it kind of douchey that he clearly tried to leverage use of the facilities as a way to keep him there "it's gonna be bad for your career if you can't use our weight room for three months I'm just looking out for you." I'm glad Adams wasn't FS enough to buy it. -
Beau gets paid, Adams does not. Case closed.BallSacked said:
So the fuck what? Same would apply to Baldwin if he bailed for Eugene. Would EWU let him use the expense account for a few months? The Film room? Let him work out at the facility? Use the company car? Would his players want him hanging around for a few months? No. Not how the real world works Peter pan. Count Chocula.doogsinparadise said:
Fuck that shit, hypocrites can suck a dick. Like someone else said, Beau would be on the first plane out of Cheney if he got a call from a Pac-12 school.BallSacked said:I side with Baldwin
His quotes are kind of haterish, but he has a team to run. Keeping a guy who bailed on his teammates in the locker room and facilities is a fag move. Fuck that - take your ass down to golds gym and get a membership. -
I don't have a problem with Baldwin being pissed. Of course he's pissed. He just lost his star QB. I also don't have a problem with not letting Adams use the facilities. Fair game.
I don't know if Adams will be the best QB in the conference, the 4th best, or the 7th best. With the talent around him, he will probably be one of the better QB's, but new level, new system. It might not be a seamless transition.
In 2013, Sean Mannion put up half a season where he played better than any QB in the country. Taylor Kelly looked like a really good QB, until he got hurt and then wasn't. That's why I'm hesitant to read too much into Adams two great games against pretty bad Pac 12 teams. He's had a few mediocre to poor games in the FCS, so he will likely have some in the Pac 12.
Trying to degrade Helfrich or Oregon over this is FS though. Is Urban Meyer a bad coach for not having a QB after Tebow? What about Carroll after Sanchez? It's not easy getting a top QB to commit when you have a guy like Mariota. The good high school prospects have big egos and most think they will play right away and don't want to sit for 2-3 years behind Mariota. In addition, most QB's are busts. No team just seamlessly has one great QB after another. Teams may have a nice run, but that rarely, if ever happens.
Instead of playing a freshman at QB, Oregon can play a senior and one who could potentially be very good. It doesn't mean those freshmen suck. They will have three years to be the starter. Maybe they aren't ready because they are young? Why go 10-3 with a freshman at QB instead of 12-1? -

Yes no school would allow that to happen.BallSacked said:
