Clay Matthews ...

Should make sure he has his head on a swivel next time he plays the Hawks ... the shot he put on Wilson after the INT to Kearse was about as dirty of a play as I've ever seen.

Russell was being a dumbass trying to make a hero play. After you throw an interception, you either run off the field or hug the referee.

All for playing hard ... all for taking a shot at Wilson for trying to make tackles. No problem there.

Leading with the head and trying to deliver a KO shot is just flat out dirty ... no chance he makes that same play on another player that wasn't a QB.

I'm perfectly fine with the QB or any player getting blown up in those situations on legal hits ... absolutely no problem. It's part of the game.

You can't talk about being tough on head hits and then on plays like that just give 15 yard penalties as a punishment. In a game like this, you'd give up 15 yards easily to knock the other QB loopy.

It's one of the few areas where I think college does have it right in that if you are clearly targeting an opponent's head you are ejected from the game. I do think that they take it a little too far and eject guys for football plays ... but I totally get erring on the conservative side given what we are finding to be the obvious health issues with shots to the head and concussions. Does a player like Matthews (or anybody else in that situation) make the same kind of play if they know that if they get it wrong it turns into a trip to the shower?

I have no problem with the GB player on the 4th INT going to a knee. The reality is that the only way that the Packers lose there is to do just about everything wrong from there on out.

I agree with you that not finishing some of those first half gift scores from the Hawks really hurt the Packers. I also think that as the game progressed, it became very clear that Rodgers was really hurting and it made it very difficult for him to drive the ball with any kind of effectiveness.

We all would have hooked out if Wagner lit up Rodgers like that.

I would have loved it. I hope it happens to Brady in the Super Bowl.
Brady is going to get the ultimate super star treatment in the Super Bowl. (tinfoil hat on) If the Hawks hit him like that, half the Hawks D will get ejected. (tinfoil hat off)

Glad to see some redemption in this thread. There was a lot of hurt ginage in the game thread. You get a shot at the other guy's QB, you take it. Part of the game.
