There's really no downside re: Peters Dismissal

Peters was no doubt leaving for the league after this year, as he should, so he had no future in the program. Sidney Jones, Nate Dogg Jr, Gardenhire, etc. are all freshman that will benefit a ton from the extra playing time over the last few games. But that's not even the biggest part of this.
Successful people can see past a short term pain or loss for a long term gain.
Sark would be doing anything and everything he could to get to a SPECIAL 9 WIN SEASON, what a cool year for the Huskies man. Petersen realizes the individual outcomes of these last 4 games don't really mean shit in the long run, but rather a great opportunity for growth as a program. This is Petersen saying I don't give a fuck if you're the best corner in the country in a shitty secondary, if you're not buying into the program and the team, we don't need you. If you think you're bigger than the team, we don't need you. He gave Peters a chance to clean his shit up after the Eastern debacle, he didn't, and now he's door. ass. out.
The move gives credibility to Petersen, his staff, and the program. No empty threats here. Respect the program, process, coach, and most importantly your teammates or else you can LEAVE.
These next two games matter. A lot. Manage a split (or better), and Pete gets a respectable bowl bid and a lot of momentum rolling into recruiting season. Drop them both, and you spend the entire offseason answering questions about whether the program is still just treading water.
Dismissing Peters was the right call for the long-term good of the program. But pretending the short-term hit to your defense doesn't matter is wishful thinking. -
When you're done rooting Mike Slive's cock, please explain how a 7-2 team with losses to #3 and #17, and with a blowout road 62-27 victory @ #9 doesn't qualify as 'good'TierbsHsotBoobs said:

If the CFP committee didn't invite you to the bowl, it's not a respectable bowl.TTJ said:

This situation reminds me a lot of titus young. A kid with incredible talent and obvious ability to play at the next level but regularly made stupid decisions. Titus spent an entire year on the sidelines thanks to his inability to understand basic concepts(and probable mental disorder). Peters has some of those same issues where he just doesn't understand or comprehend basic thought. You see it on the field all the time.
It's a huge loss for this defense on the field, but not if he's such a problem in practice it's a massive distraction. -
The fact that ASU is #9 in the country just shows that that there are a maximum of eight good teams in the country. I'd call it seven, as I think MSU isn't good either.Gladstone said:
