USC thinks they can spend money on defense like Texas Tech did. They can but they won't get the results. You could give Lincoln Riley the Houston Texans defense, and he'd turn them into the same Lincoln Riley defense he has always had within a couple weeks. It's not the talent, it's the culture. Look at Bear Alexander. His statistical numbers are almost identical to his sophomore year at USC, but his presence is much different. He's constantly eating double teams, that he didn't have to deal with at USC. He went from a USC malcontent to a cornerstone starter on the Oregon D line.
