Manifest EDGE AJ Green to UW

I like the year Lynch had and I like taking guys who have two years from smaller schools. I just feel like they need more speed rusher types but who can also reasonably hold the edge in the Big 10. Easier said than done I know.

Antonio O'Berry could be an option if the staff wants to go with a 5th or 6th year senior. He's listed at 6'6" 240 lbs and might even be able to get another year (I'm not sure what he did prior to Gardener Webb).
DJ Warner coming from SMU could also be a fit. He's originally from Phoenix and the staff recruited him but he went to Kansas and then SMU so he'd be a true JR next year. But his body type seems to be closer to Ward's and Davis' (he is listed at 6'4" 231 lbs).
Same for this guy from Sac State and he'd be a RS-JR. It looks like the staff recruited him some when they were at Arizona and then he walked on at SJSU. It looks like he redshirted in 2023, played a little as a RS-Frosh, and then went to Sac State as a RS-JR, notching 8 sacks and a forced fumble. He's listed at 6'3" 245 lbs so not the length that I'd like to see (Ward is listed at 6'5" 235 lbs) but he'd be less expensive than those coming from P4 conferences.

This is the key. Find really good guys that can contribute for more than one year from small schools that won’t break the bank. Find some freshmen and sophomores that started in the Big Sky and the WAC and bring him here.
There are also good players on shitty teams from the real conferences that are good, but lost in the shuffle. 2008 UW had Donald Butler, Mason Foster, and Daniel Teo’Neishem.
Those types are out there too and they simply need a change of scenery to flourish. Good players don’t always look so good when their team and culture suck. I didn’t think Xeree Alexander was any good after playing for Idaho and a shitty UCF defense, but he’s pretty damn good.
I don’t know how UW is staffed out but there should absolutely be a guy, if not multiple guys that are pouring over film and scouting guys from the Big Sky and the WAC.

It seems like Matt Dougherty is one of those guys who loves scouting guys and pouring over film.

John Henry Daley, Utah DE in the portal. Probably heading to Michigan but he would fit right in with our white or white adjacent Edge room. I can hear the country music and see the line dancing right now.
-
Ryan Henderson of San Diego State just entered the portal too. He will be a RS-SR, listed at 6'3" 255 lbs, and had 7 sacks in 2025.

Line dancing is fucking awesome!
