Not quite accurate. 2008 Utah (Whittingham’s 4th year) was better than Urb’s best Ute team in 2004.

yella brings up a good point. that 04 team boatraced a pretty meh, pitt team in the fiesta and started the year ranked. whereas the 08 team won at michigan (fisch could never dream of such a thing) boatraced a GOOD bama team coached by saban. utah players were shit talking during the coin flip, it was over at that point.
to that, feels like whit peaked in 08, had some GOOD seasons since but never reclaimed that magic.
