What is crazy to me is that the two worst players on the field were each team's QB. In Miami's case, it's mind boggling given how much they paid for him.
And what was with the OC? You have a big fast running back who cans in 170+ on 17 carries for 10 yds.+ a clip and you keep putting it in your scared-of-his-own-shadow quarterback, on a windy af day no less. Sounds familiar doesn't it? vI think Fletcher could have easily had well over 2 hundy on A&M and Miami would have won more comfortably.
Alas, I think Buck will be a bridge too far. But, if their pass rush can get in on Sayin … I'm just sayin'. Even then, while I think Miami's D can keep them in the game, I don't think Miami's offense can do the job. Especially when their offensive coordinator seems to be a limited play caller. It seemed like 15 of the first 20 players were targeting Toney. Like, they know who he is. Call someone else's number. Do that against Buck and it'll be three and out the entire first half.

I kept asking myself what was up with the Miami OC. Windy as fuck, Beck shitting himself at any hint of a pass rush and a big ass RB that seemed to fall forward for at minimum 5 yards every time they gave him the ball. Haven’t watched much Miami football and I was unaware of the OC being a retard. I assume that it was Ward doing magical stuff that made them so potent last year.

It was, but it was also Ward playing sandlot ball and being very careless that made them so mistake and turnover prone. The OC plays into that because he likes a lot of razzle dazzle shit when he has a running game that could win them games if he let them. At least make them take it away before doing five hand-offs behind the line of scrimmage for a jet fucking sweep.
One thing I like that they've done and will no doubt try against Buck is using Toney as a passer. Kid played some QB in HS and it shows. But you can't build an offensive scheme on that.

It was pregame. Thanks for bumping it.
The 2nd half was even worse than expected. Lanning started rotating guys in too soon, lost momentum on a couple of personnel mixups that led to easy scores. It was actually Tosh who fucked up the 2nd half, but that still falls on Lanning.

I love that after the game Crisco lauds building the team from the inside out and then refuses to use a huge line to impose their will.

Crisco and his OCs (unless he secretly overrides his OCs; I don't know) seem to be extremist-type dudes. They're always doing one thing a lot and they rarely surprise you.
I'm not going to say he has the offense to beat Buck, he probably does but there's a snowball's chance in hell they'll scheme it right.
Unless you are a killer team, the further up the pyramid you go the more important it is to have a playcaller. They're not going to line up on Buck and just run to a win. I know that. But it's being able to use to your advantage what is hard for the other guy to stop that seems to elude that staff.
One thing Miami does seem to be missing this year is a good TE. That would come in handy right about now and they don't seem to have one. Either they don't like Elija Lofton because he sucks, or he's hurt and I don't know it, or the OC's offense doesn't target TEs. They could sure use Arroyo back right now. Lofton is definitely not that guy.

Arroyo? What would be better with Arroyo calling plays?
-
Wrong Arroyo.

My bad. I try not to think about Marcus Arroyo, but when I do, his nuts are being popped with rusty channel locks.
