This game made a great case for expanding the playoffs to 16 teams. Who doesn't want to see more games that are scoreless at halftime?
Contracting back to 4 teams would be the best move.

LOL… It just occurred to me that the most boring spectacle in all of sports would be the Iowa spring game
-
I'm fine with 6, top 2 teams get a bye seems fair to clean up the fringe
-
I'm fine with anything from 4 up to 12.
I don't know if I see the value of the Tulanes and JMUs getting in though.
Tulane got run and JMU is going to make that Tulane game look "close."
-
JMU will do better than Tulane. If anything, Dan will put it in cruise mid-3rd Q and load up on 3rd and 4th stringers to kill Tosh's last stat line as a DC.
-
There is no way in hell they would reduce the number of teams in the playoffs. Too much money to be made.
It will be 16 soon. Cook it.
-
I think they will see clear to eliminate the CCG. No one cares anymore which means the money dries up. Even the SEC sounded hollow when Nick said winning the SEC CCG was still huge
-
This was an extremely accurate take assuming it was a pregame post. No time stamp to confirm.

I disagree. Both these teams are loaded with great talent and I actually enjoyed watching them play a hard fought, violent game. If the kickers make their kicks in a stadium that isn’t a wind tunnel the score is 16-6. Miami and OSU will also be low scoring. Cook it. Just like the B10 championship game was. Lastly if the sport would just exclude the G5 teams, unless they are actually in the top 12, the games will be more competitive. Texas at Oregon would have been a lot of fun. Notre Dane at Mississippi would have also had my close attention. Any of these teams, outside the G5 reps, could go on a heater and beat anyone in the field. Portal and NIL have thinned that blue blood of the sport. 16 will happen but competitively it’s probably a step too far at this point. Get the best 12 in the tournament and it should always be pretty fun.
