A Jedd Fisch quote that I whole-heartedly agree with
This is a quote from an article I just posted in Swaye's Wigwam.
“These bowl games are special. I don’t understand the opt-outs of them,” Fisch said Monday. “I listened to Clark Lea at Vanderbilt talk about what an amazing experience playing in a bowl game is, and how they love football over there, and they never want to opt out, and I couldn’t agree more with that same exact philosophy.”

Apparently everyone is trying to play except for Davis.

Someone needs to ask Jedd if Tacario saved his redshirt.

Would keeping Dixon have been the right move? Maybe he actually plays against Oregon.
-
likely would have been cheaper too.

Contrarian hot take, of course anyone associated with Vanderbilt is going to think the bowls are special.
Washington has earned the right to be a little more particular as Notre Dame is choosing to be.

Catholic God and Mormon God had a funny sense of humor this season.

That's what happens when you rely on middle men to talk to REAL God.
-
Joseph Smith did cut out the middle man. Haven't you been to Southern Idaho before?

I like the idea of teams with winning records getting some sort of way to cap off the season with a good experience and a high note.

I do too. I agree. I hate the way the naming conventions have made most of them sound ridiculous - Pop Tarts Bowl, etc. - but I'm generally in favor of playing and I'm glad UW isn't opting out. I also like what Jedd said about it - the way you get better at playing football is to play football.
I'm just saying that the perspective of somebody at Vanderbilt will necessarily be quite different from the UW perspective when it comes to what qualifies as a compelling post-season opportunity.
PS: ND is getting roasted in the court of public opinion on this. Hate to see it.
