Hardcore Husky Podcast: After Purdue Plungering, has Joey tested Doog-positive?

I think I was actually hoping Jimmy would lose enough to where UW would actually fire him because it was going to be an absolute razing of the program if they let him coach more seasons. I have to wonder even without the actions of Saint Ruperake if they were going to have to fire him (yes, even UW). The depths of recruiting and staff retention and fan excitement were about as low as I can ever remember at any program at the level of UW.

0-12 is a Washington thing forever irregardless of who the coach is.
So you were actively rooting for UW to lose the crapple cup and go winless, wow that’s fucking lame!

I believe most of us felt fortunate that Lake took a swing at Ruperake and that spelled the end of the Lake area but that’s different than actively rooting for an individual loss. It’s certainly possible Lake doesn’t get fired without the sideline incident but that’s unfortunately an upper campus issue where winning at the highest level doesn’t seem to be the goal within UW’s administration. Or since Lude was AD
I’m hopeful the new UW President is a sports fan and sees the positive outcome of a successful football program to the university.

I'd rather be wrong about fish and uw to be successful.
That said there's plenty of evidence I'm right.
If I am right better to get him out of town sooner than later. Worst case scenario is beating up on the little sisters of the poor and sitting in mediocrity for 4-5 years. Even more so in an era where the playoffs are wide open to be looking in from the outside. UW has advantages other programs eyeing the playoffs wish they had. No reason to set the bar low in this era.

Same, even if Fisch wins these last 3 games and he is successful next year he’s definitely leaving at the next best opportunity. All you have to do is look at his track record of moving every 2 or 3 seasons.
Recruiting sounds promising, leveling up and all. Even if Fisch is successful here next year, he will definitely move on before year 4 or 5 if possible and the his next opportunity. So these promising prospects will have options unless UW can hire some potential hotshot replacement with a chance to keep most of the roster depending on the bags being thrown around.
Long term, I just don’t feel excited because the offense hasn’t seemed to improve and the play calling is average at best. Listening to Greg Lewis and Mario Bailey Tuesday they were moaning about the play calling like most of us here. Greg believes one of the reasons UW’s tailbacks have struggled is because they don’t get enough reps each game to get into a rhythm.
I’m not really into recruiting anymore; however, said recruiting has me more excited than the product on the field seeing some of the freshmen contributing. Mario made a point stating Jed’s recruitings is great and he’s encouraged with the young guns taking advantage of their reps when the opportunity arises but Greg and Mario also don’t like the play calling. The one hire Jed made that I saw as a positive was definitely Ryan Walter’s as the new DC. Will Jed be able to retain Ryan when he probably recognizes Fisch may be looking for greener pastures eventually. If Walter’s takes a different DC job in January this will be big red flag on Fisch.
The problems on the road are a HUGE concern and I’ll be happy to be wrong if we see the team come out of the gates strong tomorrow, however I’m not holding my breath. If we lose tomorrow, this season will be a Fail!

Yeah UW needs to retain Walters. Ive really liked what I have seen from them and legitimately think they are great.
The offense...absolute inconsistent cluster fuck

I am desperately pleading to the football gods to be wrong
