Which is a fair point as well. I don't expect Williams is he's named the starter at some point to light the world on fire. However if you let him work through some of the struggles this year may he end up being a better QB next year? I definitely feel he should be the starter going forward beyond this year.
I wouldn't call Kelly a noodle arm, he strategically uses his legs every once in a while to keep the defense honest.
From what I saw of him last year he was devastating at times on the back shoulder throws working with Strong

I agree with the final prognosis.
I think ASU is better than us, however at home with the backs up against our wall, with the possibility of a rusty Kelly and rain in the forecast, I think this sets up as a game win can win.
    I'd go 27-24 personally

I'm not buying the argument that Sark leaving had anything to do with him realizing what little talent he had accumulated on his roster. He was gone the day he signed his contract here if USC ever came after him. I'm sure it made his decision all the easier and if by some chance that was a deciding factor its really a blessing in disguise that he is a shitty recruiter because while we have to endure with his recruiting blunders for a few seasons it still puts us lightyears ahead of still being saddled with him.

It will be interesting to track the guys who flipped to USC after Sark took the job there and see how they shake out in a few seasons. Not the 5*s who were already going there, but the shitstains he had coming to UW to specifically play for him and followed him south. With all his recruiting mistakes the fans there are going to be waxing nostalgic for the days when sanctions were their only problem.

the offensive line is giving him time to throw, so that can't be used as an excuse for miles. Can you name one game this season miles has truly looked impressive, possibly Illinois I guess. Against cal 90 of his yards came on a dump off to ross and Cal is one of the worst defenses in the country. I agree he isn't getting much help from the running game, but I'd like to see us go in a different direction

I did forget to mention that Miles has created his own pressure by not standing in the pocket and scrambling before he needed too. He does not throw with anticipation which he must learn to do as he progresses.

Agree spoonie. Sark was gone no matter what. He had been waiting forUSC the whole time. We had discussed it before that there was nothing roster wise that gave him pause about leaving. Sark had always talked early about building something special and all that nonsense. He knew he didnt have Sankey and would have to break in a new QB. The timing of the USC job was perfect but he was likely crapping himself after UCLA. Oregon state probably impressed Haden enough.

His presence in the pocket is diefinitely his biggest issue

Good for RoadDawg for sticking by his boy Miles.

And I thought my Jack H Lockner obsession was an issue...

It's not that I can't quit him. He doesn't look like a very good QB. I just find it stupid that some are anointing Williams and acting like he really showed something in garbage time. It's fucking ridiculous. Just say you are sick of Miles and want to see another guy get a shot.
I just wanted Miles to fail so you could be wrong.

Mom won't let me use the computer because of all the porn viruses so I'm using the phone for it. Good chit thus far. I don't really think the raw talent gap between Oregon and is real large at all (okay, this year they do have a big edge in skill guys this particular yr ). Most of it is mental. I hate to say it but it might take until year three for the soft mentality to break.

The problem I had with this podcast is only one of them actually saw the ASU-Stanford game and they spent the majority of the time on Washington, with zero insightful reasearch or information on ASU out side of stats anyone can get. Mainly opinions and egos. Did get volumes on the woes of the Dawgs offense which is dead last in the PAC 12 passing yardage it appears. Does ASU's defense even have to perform at an average level to stop them scoring anyhow? Good stuff for a Devil fan to learn about your team but not ASU. I do agree with Berc being possibly a better choice to counter the issues with Washington's secondary. Graham did say he could use both depending on the situation. I would never say ASU is going to win ten games even with being down one less game than Washington, but Road Dog sure does with your biggest win being Cal? For people that are uber critcial it is a tad too like a homer than I expected from these fellas. As for the sense of entitlement of ASU fans while being underachievers, have you looked at your own program over the last ten years? If you lose on Saturday to ASU you will be 0-20 to the Ducks and Sundevils. I see tons on Don James mentions but most of us have moved on from Frank Kush. The good news to me is, over the next couple years both programs will be contenders. Scout ranks our recruiting class right now #24. Just like Stanford, the stength are ASU's offense to Washington's defense, well make that the defensive line.

As for the one commentator that did see the ASU- Stanford game his summary was something like this: Hogan is off, the whole Cardinal team played sloppy, Graham out schemed Shaw, and the Devils primarily scored on turn overs. That is all true, but the offense was good enough to move the ball against the #1 defense to be able to make 4 of 5 field goals. Some of those 3 points are seven on a weaker defense. Stanford is a pretty good team, even if not the same as last year when you consider they have played Washington on the road and won, close with the Irish in South Bend, and should have beat USC at home. In looking at the Dawgs schedule, you have not got it done against Oregon or Stanford, so you can't blow off ASU's defense so freely while using a 2nd string QB. Never saw a mention of the scheme change on the defensive line that is worked well and is going to used in this game? The defense has improved when considering the level of competition the last couple games, at least good enough for wins. Foster is a threat and UCLA, USC, and Stanford keyed on Foster. Lewis actually had a pretty good night running, something that was not touched on either.

Lewis has a pretty good night running, something that was not touched on either.

    TL,DR summary:

    Stanford SUCKS.
