Ryan Walters
Not lobbying for him, but his name will be coming up soon so might as well discuss it.

He’s free to be the DC. That’s it.

Yep. Definitely a flaccid proposition. What would’ve happened if we’d hired Grubb? Who fucking knows.🤷♂️🤷♂️
-
I keep wondering that myself.
I think, in hindsight, I would have preferred to have given that a run.
I can't imagine we'd be worse off than we are at the moment.

If I was UCLA I’d hire Grubb over Judd. UCLA has really never had talent issues which we all assumed would be Grubb’s shortcoming. It could work.
-
A HC hire is usually a reaction to the previous hire (Foster), so Fisch makes sense to them. Has HC experience, which Grubb does not.
It’s fucking stupid, but so is UCLA.

I like what I have seen from Walters this year, specifically the adjustments in-game. He was such a disaster at Purdue I can't accept him at head coach though, and before you just say it was Purdue, that program was strong under Brohm.
I still question Grubb as a head coach. He has never really recruited as far as I can tell and everything I have ever heard is he is a super gruff/hardass Lambright type.
-
True. McDonald and him sure were oil and water.
-
have to look at resources and what was available. Interim HC with possible elevation wouldn’t be the worse situation. Make Grubb high paid assistant HC and see what happens
-
Walters will get paid this off season to be DC somewhere. Already failed as a head coach but he can get 2-3 million somewhere
Not here. We're poor

Being a DC in this conference isn’t insanely hard it seems like. Run blitz basically all the time and have someone capable of covering the tight end in the secondary.
Our resource allocation seems to be off spending big dollars at corner.
