That’s what is so weird about this shutdown. Dems are directly responsible for having one of their strongest support bases, federal government workers, out of work and struggling to pay bills.
As the Dem Whip explained, they have “leverage” so it’s OK if people suffer. -
This is exactly the cause of almost every level of government now being in debt. They kept spending like the COVID funny money was going to flow forever and those governments (all left-leaning) refuse to make cuts to pre-COVID levels.

As Always government has no economic incentives to cut costs and every incentive to increase them. This is why you don't give them one cent more than you absolutely are forced to.

Spokane mayor just did the same thing. Not that it means anything other than she is an attention whore who never misses an opportunity for a press conference.

There are generations of peeps on SNAP, welfare, and other government handout programs. I think most people have a heart and some empathy (except for Billy's exs's) for the disabled, be they physical or mental, or people who are down on their luck because of a layoff or something. It's the illegals, foreigners who hate or are indifferent and won't assimilate, and the lazy asses, and single mommies with three or four kids who will probably be drains as well.
