How much of the government “shutdown” is related to COVID relief subsidies that never got taken off the books?
My gut tells me both the Obamacare subsidies and a good chunk of EBT/SNAP were put in place when the world was shut down. Common sense says that once the world opened back up again, those payments should have ended.Locally, this is what the City of Spokane did - they prepared their 22-23 budget based on COVID revenue, then never readjusted their spending to pre COVID levels. And now the city cries about not having enough revenue to pay the bills. Total bullshit.

Yeah the Obamacare subsidies were supposedly Covid one timers, hence why they were not made permanent. We are fucked on healthcare. Only solution is to go to an à la carte model and that will have some pain in the beginning.
