Head Coach Jedd Fisch Postgame Press Conference: Illinois

did he talk about Florida and ucla?
-
There is 0 world he goes to UCLA
-
If he is offered ucla or Florida I think he is gone. Unless he is getting divorced and wants to ride this out.
-
0 chance he goes to UCLA
-
Not true if the wife has any real input. With designs on the NFL, not a bad place to network with 2 professional teams in town if he does anything productive at UCLA. The RAMS HC constantly loses coordinators and the chargers will lose coordinators depending on their success and Jim has never failed to win. Might be a long shot but it’s greater than zero.
-
I don't think he goes to either, maybe if Florida makes a stupid high offer but they'd need to pay the $10 million buyout and give him a raise to $10-$11 million per year.
They'd probably be better off going after Kiffin, Eli Drinkwitz, or Rhett Lashlee of SMU. The Louisville coach is very good (Jeff Bohm?) and would make great sense too.
-
Brohm is a Lousville grad
-
Fisch ain’t going anywhere. Going to get massive raise at UW when it gets a full share. Would have to go through the pain and suffering of completely rebuilding wherever he goes. Why?
-
I think he might wait until Demond is finishing his final year, and see how far he can ride Demond to a big paycheck somewhere →Florida. Coaches have a 2-3 year life expectancy at Florida.
Demond might become a top 5 QB for the next 3 years.
(Demond may not follow him to Florida…he might like what he has going for him at UW.)
End of year 5, and he's most likely gone, IMO. -
This daily or at least weekly talk of Fisch leaving is dumb. Is anyone else sick of it? If he leaves, he leaves. I doubt he’s going to have huge schools or the NFL coming after him yet. It makes us small time.
-
if he leaves we should hire boy wonder from asu .
-
Yes but I think Penn State and / or Florida will make a run at him because he's a very good coach and both are better jobs (more lucrative too).
-
-
He is an ASU grad/Phoenix native that has said repeatedly he doesn't want to leave
You guys need to get some reality in your lives.
If Fisch leaves we need to hire someone like Tulane or Memphis coaches that can bring the team with them.
-
The reality is that money talks
Nothing else matters
-
Sure.gif but coaches like Brohm at Louisville and Dillingham at ASU, that are locals and grads, are very unlikely to leave.
It would be like if Mora was here and a good coach. He wouldnt leave.
Would be nice to get someone like that as a coach but they are hard to find.
UW should've hired Pinkel instead of Gilby.
-
Theyll run to the airport for the right offer
They always do
-
Brohm is a former B1G coach. He'd want back in. Dillingham is at the ceiling for Big 12 ASU. Washington is a better job for both if Washington wants them
-
Are we really talking about Dillingham at UW?
I don’t get it.
-
I mean, Brian Kelly is now available.
So is Brian Kelly.
-
Tulanes AD didn't work for us
-
YOU are advising ME to have a reality check?
I never said it was likely, but in a scenario where I'm Pat Chun and need a new UW coach, Dillingham is on my short list. And if I've got the budget, I'm making him say no with an impressive offer. Here's some reality: Money talks and Big 10 > Big 12.
-
The odds are 5,000-to-1 that it would ever happen. But I love the idea of it. He's a coach I would be genuinely fired up about on day one.
-
I just read Race's comments, and I agree with 95% of it. The one part I agree with PGOS is that being at your alma mater can mean something. If I loved a place money wouldn't be the end-all. But to act like a whopping offer to Dillingham couldn't pry him out of Tempe is foolish.
-
Assuming Judd wants out, I too would love Dilly Dilly (TWILTCH).He just seems so hyper competitive that coaching in the Power 2 should seem very attractive to him. If staying with his heart at a lower league of football is what he really wants, then he’s probably not the guy we should want at UW. You definitely have to make him say no though. If you have the chance at a guy who’s won a conference title and coached in the playoffs you offer 10 and see what happens.
-
If Judd wins out, beats Oregon and makes the playoffs you offer him 9 no more than that. 10+ million is for closers and Judds never won a conference title. That’s my pay scale. All Fish has ever done is win an Alamo Bowl against true freshman Jackson Arnold, who to this day kinda sucks at being a QB. If UW wins 9 or 10 with a bowl game and you want to up his pay to 8.5 I’d be fine with that. 9+ is right near top ten money. Another Alamo Bowl doesn’t put you in that company.
-
Yes.
Dillingham and Brohm aren't leaving until the momentum starts to wane. Broham was already in the B1G and revamped Purdue, then bounced to his alma. And if the momentum is waning, why would we want them anyways?
They aren't mercenaries like DeBoer who leave for an extra 1 million and dont negotiate with the school before bouncing.
To be fair to DeBoer, I don't think he leaves UW for many gigs. Bama was just one of the few.
-
-
It's impressive that you possess a full psychological profile of Dillingham to know exactly what he's thinking and everything that motivates him.
The fact is we can never know for sure unless we dangle the proverbial carrot.
We will agree to disagree.
-
DIlly or brohm likely don't leave for a half share big program. Just a thought. Maybe I am wrong. It's not like they can't make the playoffs at their current schools although it's probably easier at uw. Doesn't seem like a job they would leave for unless they hate their current boss.
