I never understood the hate he got for that rant. We have the pistol and shotgun. Linemen "battle in the trenches". QBs with a big arm have a rocket or a howitzer or a cannon. "He's a gunslinger". "Long bomb for the touchdown". "He rifled it in there". We fly fucking fighter jets and bombers over stadiums.

America was gearing up for real war because it was post 9-11 as I recall. Could be wrong but we had also come out of Gulf War 1 with a renewed respect for the fighting man, woman, and tranny.
