Washington remains unranked but Nebraska is ranked?

It's mid-October so it will get sorted out over the next six weeks. Nevertheless, Washington is 5-1 but unranked, but Nebraska is 5-1 with a more miserable and pathetic schedule and they're ranked? In the eloquent words of @CFetters_Nacho_Lover… "huh?"
Cincinnati and South Florida are ranked but the Huskies are not?
This is horseshit
Holy fuckall!

how about 2 loss Michigan and Illinois (with a 53 point loss) also ranked higher than UW
-
NOC, just win baby!
-
The fact we remain unranked shows that NOC

AP poll doesn’t matter.

This "polls don't matter" cuckoldry… So stupid. The perception of "Success" begets more success in CFB, more than any other sport. Recruits want to play for the successful team. NIL sponsors want to be associated with a successful team. And historic high rankings create the expectation for future high rankings (see Nebraska… or Oregon whose ascent was built entirely on perception). Even if you do win a bunch of games and your ranking doesn't reflect it - you don't really get the benefit of those wins in most of the ways that matter.
I don't care that I'm not getting paid yet - I'm shoveling more shit than anyone realizes. One day my shoveling the most shit in darkness will be rewarded.
-
I was a little surprised we weren’t ranked yesterday. With that being said, we play at Michigan and if Jed gets his shit together and the team comes out ready to play and we win, they will be ranked. Had they been ranked 23rd and lose this Saturday they’d be out again anyway.
I’m not confident we come out ready to play, especially at 9am so I expect much of the same. I’ll be happy to be proven wrong but the fact is we have looked like shit during each first half since WSU.
Although the wolverines are pedestrian this year, winning on the road at the B1G house would be fairly significant in my book. I’ll believe it when I see it.
-
Since WSU? Christ.
We were tied 14-14 at half with CSU which I predicted…lol.
But yeah, being ranked #23 is a waste of time. If we lose to Michigan, it's gonna be hard to get to 9-3 and be ranked at the end of the year. If we win, a Top 15 type season could be achievable.
-
If Washington beats Michigan we have a real shot at the playoffs.
Massive game for the perception of the program.
-
Kind of a weird side effect of the dead internet, but it's arguably helping us more than if we were ranked 24/25 right now.
Angry chuds to from the right team are basically working for us? right now because if this situation.
-
Just don't be calling for the W @PostGameOrangeSlices !
You can be cautiously optimistic but we don't want to have Doog irrational exuberance jinx.
-
UW is winning against Michigan in the Big House and then beating ranked Illinois rather easily at home the next weekend.
I am a realist. Last year I was more optimistic than I should've been, but I called for 8 wins and it was there for the taking.
Avoid the let downs against B1G trash and a greased up UCLA, and UW is playing Oregon for a potential conference championship game appearance.
-
Darn it!
-
Indiana and Ohio State can each lose a game and they'll still be in the CCG.
Hot take: neither team is losing a game anyway.
Focus on Michigan. They suck, so UW should win rather easily. Yes, 34-17.
-
How can Indiana lose a game and be ahead of UW, if UW wins out?
-
Thank you. If you go down the road of it not mattering then we will get fully existential real quick.
Everything matters
-
This is the correct take. Washington should be looking at Michigan like they're going to go rub salt in the wound. UW is a better roster, a better staff, and they're in a better place as a program if you're ignoring all the dead internet shit.
Demond should beat them. They're going to play their 2023 stuff and act like they should win because of brand.
-
Depends on which team defeats them and a series of tiebreakers about common opponent records. So, it's feasible.
It's far more likely that IU wins out (barring a UCLA-esque turnaround by Penn State) and UW loses at least 1 more game.
Beat Michigan. Nothing else matters. They suck.
-
We need UCLA to beat them. I think any team beating them puts UW ahead because our loss is to Ohio State
-
Yes, but i said both IU and and Buck could lose and (probably) get in CCG before UW. If Buck loses to Michigan, then it's a tiebreaker mess.
Odds are better if only IU loses. But this is hyperdoog-level prognostication.
