ZACH.DURFEE.

Did anyone notice this message board favorite penetrating into the coug backfield with regularity last night?

yep. Half a step smarter and he would’ve racked up a lot of sacks and TFLs.
-
Yes, he looked good.
He also isnt having the kind of season that will get him drafted.
So Durf will be back next year and even more healed from the durftoe

He can bull rush pretty good but he looks like he's made of concrete. There was a play last night where he got into the backfield and the QB just kind of ran past him because he has a fused spine or something
-
He has a good spin move
-
Most noticeable he's been in a game thus far. Most QBs get the ball out so quick now and are usually mobile it takes a pretty special edge to be able to finish a lot of sacks.
-
Mmm not sure I've seen evidence of that. Let me know if you see any highlights of it pop up though
-
Pretty sure he used a spin move on the hit he got on the first INT
-
I think maybe he was hesitant post-injury in the first 2 games and has started getting confidence back. Perhaps the monster can still be unleashed.🤷♂️🤔🤔
I hope. -
The sequence of Score, Durfee kills their QB right before a pick, and then Score, I almost didn't give a shit about the game after that.
We? we're rolling as hard as we were in the 2016 Apple down at that point.
-
Durfee is still on track for Doog Legend status, but a few more games like Saturday he might show that he's more than that. Was definitely encouraging.
-
ZTF trajectory would be nice. His USC game vs Durfs Ohio st game
-
Zach Turfee
-
ZTF in 2020 was incredible, but Durfee right now is quite a bit better than ZTF at any point after 2020.
-
This is all accurate and hoping for the best but I’d really like to see him have a little success and have fun. Seems like he hasn’t had much luck while being a little snake bitten. At this point as a fan, as long as he’s taking successful snaps and in the rotation it can only help the team and hopefully he can build a little confidence. Any added depth or contribution is gravy, like to see him get some actual enjoyment on the football field with his fellow dawgs.
-
I’d like to see him get 3 sacks vs the buck nuts. That would give me enjoyment.
All they saw was purple. Just sayin…
-
Never leave this place again.
-
I'm no huge ZTF fan but against SC he had 4 Tackles 2 solo 1.5 sacks and 1.5 tfl. All while containing the reigning Heisman very well
Durfee should be better at some point but he hasn't done that yet
-
ZTF came up clutch that game. The sack on Williams before halftime was one of the biggest plays of the year. He did almost nothing most games.
Durfee reminds me of Tryon in 2019. He’s an athletic guy that has tools but is raw and still getting used to the speed at this level. The injuries and basically sitting out two years didn’t help.
I bought the hype on Durfee and am still holding on. I don’t think the coaches were making it up. I have seen enough glimpses to see a good player (possibly our best DL). Hopefully he keeps getting better. 11 pressures against any opponent is pretty damn good.
-
I like the Tryon comp. Could see him growing through the year
-
And since we don't play Cal, he can't whiff on a tackle in their backfield.
-
Most importantly had the forced fumble.
That was the play of the game IMO.
