I prefer to focus on the Mariners who are hours away from doing their mid-August thing of losing a series to a dead in the water team right when they get in position to go to the playoffs.
I'm waiting until week 1 to start re-learning the roster.
I've been trying to listen to the B1G network during drive-time and they don't talk about UW or UCLA, at all. USC gets a little play and Oregon gets almost as much attention as Nebraska, which is very classy of the station.
The conference realignment is not doing anything to help UW's profile.
Supposed to be 9th in a conference we shouldn't be in with guys who ain't there to play school, but will take $500,000 from Glen Grant Chevy, then transfer twice more
I can't give a scientific answer for it, but this is by far the least excited I've been about Husky football and college football this time of year. Usually I'm itching for the games to start. Right now I'm pretty apathetic. Last year I at least still had some of that dust from 2023.
Get to 3-0 and beat Ohio State with @dannarc and the crew rocking in the north end zone and damn near throwing Buckeyes over the ledge and I think I'm in. I think college fandoms might turn to more pro sports like frontrunner bandwagon shit.
The organic nature of CFB is what endeared the average fan where they could watch a HS recruit>commit>look promising>play a little>blow up. Now it takes till fall camp to have any idea of what the team will be. So having said that I definitely was not locked in on recruiting or spring camp as much as usual but now that the roster is coming together I have a little tingle of excitement
The last Seattle gayme I went to was Boise CC. Yes it was Labor Day weekend and skool ain't going yet, but anyone who says there were over 42,000 is a liar. That was the 13-1 season too.
If I were King college football would have ignored all the non college footballs fans and their "fixes" to the game. But that ship sailed and I was exiled on main street
We can only work with what we have now. I could have told you that this would hurt if not ruin the game and I am pretty sure I did
@dannarc will be warming up his vocal chords in Pullman prior to Buckeye invasion. @dannarc and crew do their best work under the friendly confines of the cantilever.
You guys need to look at a roster, listen to an podcast or read an article or two. Demond Williams is something to be excited about. Jonah Coleman and Denzel Boston are fucking exciting. Taco Davis was an elite portal pickup. Boston, Devin Bryant, Elineus Davis, Rashiid Williams, Jacob Lane, Landon Hatchett are all Dawgs that have developed at UW, are expected to be contributors and did not transferred out. All of which I’m excited to see. D Williams, T Davis, Loadsock, Manu, Uiungalelele, Coleman, Muhammed, Audric Harris, Kevin Green, and others all transferred to UW strictly to continue to play for Judd Fish. That’s also a form of portal era loyalty that I’m hoping Judd can engender and replicate at UW. I picked 9-4, I’m very excited for this season. Those that can’t muster enthusiasm need to do their own research if it doesn’t cross swords with your politics too much. There’s a lot to like on Montlake this year if you allow yourself a modicum of positivity.
I've done the research. The number of years that required even a BCS true title game to crown a true champion fix are less than you think. Then when you go to seasons that needed a four-team playoff, and beyond and you get almost basically to zero past a four-team.
I wish college football being the weird enigma it was would have just embraced being flexible and more like boxing or something to determine a champion, if needed. So if there still isn't a clear champion after the bowls, do one more game, pay-per view. Two maybe if needed.

Hard to compete with hot purple dildo talk.

This is probably the best answer there ever could be.
After The Great Exile I could really give a shit anymore. It drained everything I had.
I’m all in on 12U softball now

All these are good reasons but winning is a great cure. Pretty sure Columbus and Austin are amped up for the opener
The great exile combined with a lack of faith in getting back has a damper on things as well
Again the cure is winning. Big season this season is
Yes but also it would be nice for players to stick around long enough to follow their development and root for them as a familiar unit

Not being able to get my kids hyped to go to a game with me has also cut down on my excitement. Fucking 8 pm kickoffs.

Peoples’ obsession with “fixing” football started the BCS in ‘98 and here we are 27 years later. Is it fixed yet?
Close. Couple more tweaks should do it

I honestly don't know who these dudes are. Looks like I need to do my own research.
My interests are elsewhere anymore. At this point, I'm more likely to go see Hamilton than a Husky game.
ATBS, I was never here for football content. It was always about the malarkey, which has also fizzled out.
