So, if PSU shits the bed and we beat OSU and Oregon under the thunderous cantilever does that mean Sark or DeBoer will be knocking on Nattys door?
This would be the year for us to win it all, Demond turns into cheat code Tom Brady, Coleman Beast Mode 2.0, Boston I love you, and our D is better than 23’s and BAM! I can officially retire as a burned out Doog and call it good.
I just have too much Haie in my heart anymore, I am rooting against moar teams and ex coaches than previously. I just want to win it all, hang real banner and relax on Sundays, sleeping through shitty NFL games. FYFMFE
listening to doog podcasts who go to practice it seems like they’re suspecting the staff hasn’t been thrilled with Finau and Mills could be challenging for a starting spot even without injuries. Losing Hatchett would at least be a tough depth hit.
It's a bummer that after having one of the worst OLs in recent memory, we're having to mess around with having freshmen starting at OL. If only college football had some sort of policy during the off-season where players could transfer to other teams. If such a policy existed, I'm sure Jedd would have taken full advantage by making it a priority to bring in several veteran OL players.
I have PTSD from Geirean against Oregon and ASU in 2023, but losing him would not be good, particularly because as @bananasnblondes points out, I was underwhelmed with what we took at OL in the portal. I think OL is the one remaining position where unless it's like a generational talent, you're best redshirting them. I remember the Sark years where we got in a cycle of playing all our best OL prospects too early and then they wore out and regressed or were done within 3-4 years.
Would be disappointing if Finau isn't a guy. He was arguably the biggest recruit DeBoer ever signed from what I remember.
Paki played well in the bowl game and I'm sure the staff thought that with an offseason to improve he'd have one guard spot locked down. If he's really being pushed by Mills you can look at it two ways, maybe Mills is Tray Adams fucking good or maybe Paki still isn't ready. Glass half full or glass half empty. Willis was targeted and signed almost as soon as the portal opened. I think his experience and affordable price tag made him an easy pick for UW. Hatchett the older was brought back through the portal and is a further indictment on the previous line because he's an immediate improvement over what was rolled out last year. Landon was inked in as the center as soon as the season ended and Ass O'farty always seemed penciled in by coaches very early to be the RT. Take that however you want, I'm hoping for much better from both those guys. So if they went into the off season truly wanting/needing a starting caliber tackle and guard, I guess by that metric they succeeded. They didn't get all league type guys but they did get legitimate P4 starters instead of guys that hadn't played in years, guys that rode P4 bench for four years or players that weren't even all league Big Sky. We'd all feel better if the tackle was Isaiah World and the guard was Emmanual Pregnon but UW can't afford dudes like that. As it stands I give them a B- for their portal line additions. Seeing that they pulled an F grade last lear I'll consider it a vast improvement. With the feet of Williams and the clearly raised talent and experience up front the offense, in theory, should be improved. My worry for the offensive line is down at #5 below #1, D-line/edge ( seems like a ton of JAGs all over the place), #2, WR (that whole group after Boston and Evans is really, really young), #3, TE (After Degraff and injured Q. Moore, again, a ton of freshman) and #4, QB (Although I'm pretty confident the kid will be good until I see Williams perform as the man I'll consider him a wildcard at easily the games most important position).

you realize those numbers are only a projection right?
Which makes these projections……………………………..a joke.
yes...
Too many teams
I've seen enough. All-American
sounds like we'll have 2 true freshman OL playing this year
always a recipe for success.
not too bad apparently.
Feels like this is just what it's going to be. If he's fine now he probably won't be after a quarter of the season is over anyways.

Hatchett’s not great, but solid. I really hope he’s not injured.
Paki is a redshirt.
”It was almost as if someone died, which is always the case when a University of Washington football player gets injured.”
the fuck?

I meant Champ and Mills
