Guessing nearly all is gang-related. Dem cities can only fix that themselves. This is a city who has Fani (Fanny) Willis as DA.
Not sure how much is gang related- but they do keep shooting each other at an alarming rate. Don't know how much of that is reported- vs someone is just missing.
One of these shootings happened in Edgewood which is just a few miles from my house. I saw posts about it on Nextdoor, with neighbors claiming they just didn't have enough police to keep the residents safe. I thought that was ironic since many of the people living in this area complain about being overpoliced. The posters were also stating a lot of it was due to illegal alcohol sales happening outside of the clubs. Used to see this when Buckhead started going south. Young "entrepreneurs" would set up small stands to sell drinks outside the bars because true players can't be bothered with club prices. This leads to fights in parking lots, followed up by guns being used.
