Hey Vanilla Friends 👋

We've got another great new feature available for you in Release 2025.011 - Mute Posts!

Staying in the loop is great — until your inbox starts overflowing with updates from a post that’s gotten a little too active. Until now, if you wanted to stop the noise, your only option was to silence everything — bookmarked posts, discussions you’ve started, categories you follow. Not ideal.

That changes today. 🎉

Introducing Mute Post, a smarter, more personalized way to manage your notifications in Vanilla.

🤫 What is Mute Post?

Mute Post gives you the power to silence individual discussions without turning off notifications across the board. You’ll still get alerts about all the other posts you care about — just not that one.

Whether a post has veered off-topic, resolved your question, or just isn’t relevant anymore, you can now step away from the noise without stepping away from the conversation entirely.

🔧 How It Works

You can mute a post in two easy ways:

  • From Email Notifications
Click the “Mute” link at the bottom of any comment notification email.
  • From the Post Menu
Use the “Mute” option in the post’s context menu (⋯). Want to jump back in later? Just click “Unmute.”

💡 Why You’ll Love It

1. Stay Focused: Mute the noisy threads and stay dialed in on the content that matters most to you.

2. More Control: No more one-size-fits-all settings — tailor your notifications to fit your engagement style.

3. Seamless Reversibility: Changed your mind? You can unmute any post just as easily as you muted it.

🚀 Available Now

The Mute Post feature is live and ready to use! Keep your community experience clean, relevant, and exactly how you want it.

As always, we’d love your feedback — let us know how Mute Post is working for you!
