Progress Check In

kind of stalled in the mid 170s, which isn't a bad weight, but I'd prefer to stay under 173 or so, the 165 goal is for wiggle room and so I can take a couple weeks off
I was smoking 2-5 weeks ago, which is obviously bad, but it does help weight loss (that's not why I did it though)
It was more of a coping thing to deal with some personal stuff
Trying to get back to walking more, but the weather has been above 90 for five or six days, so I tend to put it off until later in the evening…

30 Days of Whole30 eating. No sugar, no dairy, no grains, no alcohol, no legumes, no soda. Basically ate meat, veggies, nuts, and fruit. Also exercised 3 times a week. Did 30 30-minute full-body circuit plus 10-15 minutes of treadmill.
Weight: down 22 pounds
Blood pressure down
Cholesterol down
Inflammation down
Appetite down and in control
Cravings for sugar gone.
Back pain down
Muscle mass up
Sleeping WAY better
Verdict: eat more whole foods, less processed stuff, move your body more, and you'll probably be healthier and happier.

Yeah, I don't think that's right. No way I could hold 1:42 for 30 mins now. I mean in college I could only 1:38 for like 20 mins.
Current sea level 5K under the influence of a few beers was 1:53 for just under 19 mins.
But still, 326 watts at my elevation is legit stuff for an old man. Just ignore that the Tour de France guys can do that pace for 2 or 3 hrs and still be in Zone 2 and weigh 50 lbs less.
-
Just gotta translate this now into something sustainable over decades. That's the hard part.
-
Yep. Got a long road ahead of me, but feeling tanned, rested, and ready.
-
Was around 175-180 during 2022-2023 when I was in remission and I was drinking beer heavily.
163 now and since I'm going to be this thin again I may as well work toward trying to get a six pack back.

Good job @RaceBannon
-
Now the Throbber is wondering whether he could 100M in 16.2 seconds.
Without having a heart attack.
-
I'm 40 and I'm fairly certain that I could not win that race.
-
Had my annual physical this AM. Had some big belly laffs with my PCP in the exam room over the various MAHA boogeymen/obsessions.
Made some nice progress over the past year on HDL, triglycerides and BP.
I officially don't check any of the below boxes (if you check 3 or more you have metabolic syndrome).
- Abdominal obesity
- Waist circumference > 40 inches (men) or > 35 inches (women)
- High triglycerides
- ≥ 150 mg/dL
- Low HDL cholesterol
- < 40 mg/dL (men) or < 50 mg/dL (women)
- High blood pressure
- ≥ 130/85 mmHg
- Elevated fasting blood sugar
- ≥ 100 mg/dL
@whlinder my blood sugar and A1C were all good in spite of smoothies and too much faggy @haie IPA drinking. That said, I might go off smoothies and focus on eating the berries non blended. Also @BleachedAnusDawg told me I can't eat bananas anymore in conjunction with berries.
- Abdominal obesity

My brother has done that. It worked pretty well, but he put on weight later.
-
Powered by seed oils and plant toxins !
-
Still in good shape, but put on half a pound
Was in Phoenix last weekend for boring work stuff and drank too much and ate a lot of restaurant food
-
Look at that Zone 2 werq!
-
At altitude, boss!
That’s like 1:54 in the piedmont. -
DRIKIG too much helps with stress relief.
-
Hmmm, humidity will beat you up.
I did:5/1: fly back from Poland via Brussels
5/2: knee physical therapy
5/3: walk 18 holes of golf
5/4: 10 min warm up row + 5k at 1:58.8 pace (first extended row under 2:00 since injury)
5/5: 8k row, Slower
5/6: 10 mins + 6k, for total ~ 8400m
5/7: drive to PA then fly to Oregon
5/8-5/11: be cold on Oregon coast. Runs on beaches are nice
5/12: fly to Vegas
5/12-15: as much exercise as one can get in Vegas.
5/15: fly home5/16: row 4k slow, then golf tournament in humidity
5/17: day 2 of golf tourney, sunny and 80s
I feel sooooo tired and beat up today, I swear being back in the humidity and warmth (barely outside in Vegas and was like low 70s) I needed like 10 gatorades over 2 days and so much water and everything is sore and tight anyway. Booze didn’t help but I don’t think avoiding it would have helped that much.
Humidity is brutal until your body adjusts.
Or I am weak and old idk

My triglycerides were in the borderline high zone last year at 177. Super frustrating. I was down to 137 for my last labs. 23 percent drop. long duration zone 2 works. I’d love to get under 100 but that might require giving up drinking.
-
Lil' piss 2.0 just won the 1st grade PE mileage club championship at his elementary school. Racked up 26.8 miles worth of Wednesday morning PE laps.
Seeds oils and carbs for the win!!
-
Just think how well he'd do with a good seed-oil free diet not having to rely solely on his mom's genetics.
-
Nah, he'll end up just like the rest of my peer group. Fit, high performance, and not worrying about the seed oil boogeyman.
Coordination comes from mom. VO2 max is me.
-
Imagine having over 100
-
Below 100 is really good.
-
If you want to worship at the alter of engine lubricant, good luck to you, Sir.

I just kicked the shit out of the rest of Wakanda bros riding up Tumalo ridge. I’m good. A little industrial sludge in moderation ain’t gonna kill yeah. Being a sedentary fat ass will.
-
I’m down almost 20lbs this year. I’ve been rucking with my Marine vet neighbor a couple mornings a week, doing some intermittent fasting, a shit ton of yard work, and trying to eat less garbage.
-
I've also taken up rucking. I see tons of weight vests and packs walking around CDA these days.
-
Those are bullet proof vests and holsters.
Did the lower Tubbs Hill hike a month or so ago -sans AK 47 and Kevlar. Though that would have been a'ight in CDA.
Post hike lunch at Sweet Lou's was goddamned delicious. The horseradish mashed potatoes were bonerific.
-
Tubbs Hill and sweet Lou's are one of our favorite post church activities on Sundays. Sweet Lou's on the patio is outstanding .
-
Yeah - I fucked up and went on the weekend so got stuck inside. Weekdays are better. But that's a helluva patio. Well shaded with some peek-a-boo views of the lake.
The only downside, they need some smoking hot waitresses. I suppose the tourist traps on Sherman and at the Resort have higher tabs and bigger tips.
