There used to be two Starbucks in PS. One was one block south of Occidental Park, and one on the corner of Yesler and First (across from the pergola). Both closed a while ago.
Even fucking Starbucks said "no mas" to Pioneer Square.
PS was always a little rowdy but there was a good bar scene at night. Now it's fucking dead, though little bits of life are struggling to make it.
You just have to step over some human shit and body after body. It's terrible.
I sneaked into the Central Tavern at age 19 to see Alice in Chains once upon a time. I hung out down there for 3-4 years before the allure wore off. It was a little rough around the edges but certainly not overtly dangerous. There's no way I'd go there these days, even if I was 20.

Is "Meet me in Pioneer Square in the morning" the new "Meet me at the 7-11 on Aurora in the U-District"?
Democrats are actually very proud of what they have done to Portland.
Yup, destroyed a once beautiful city.... f em
No. Pioneer Square is for show & tell. 7-11 is for
… time.
it has to be at the Starbucks at Pioneer Square or it doesn’t count.

I used to go to that mall in PS a lot back in the day. Haven't been back in several years though
Are you confusing Pike Place Market for Pioneer Square?
That's even worse when I had to use the disgusting restroom in Cal Anderson Park once.
It's confusing enough being that there's a Pioneer Square in Portland too

I'm guessing you prefer the rest rooms in Volunteer Park.
