I abhor war in a general sense. Probably comes from having put warheads on foreheads for a living. War sucks. Still, you NEVER let an opportunity like this go and Trump would have done the entire world a disservice had he. Israel has softened them up, Trump gave the mullahs MULTIPLE attempts to resolve this and practically begged for talks through Ergodan and back channels. The Ayatollah couldn't be bothered and wanted to look tough. So, eat some 30,000 bombs then. So much for tough. Synchronized B2 strikes are tough. Iran isn't. Would have been great if diplomacy worked, and Trump gave them every chance to step back from enrichment and they wouldn't. Other POTUS' have kicked this can down the road for 30 years. This was being discussed at length when I was a young officer in the fucking 90s. Took 30 years, some heavy lifting from the Jews, and finally a decisive POTUS to seize the moment and do what the entire world knew needed to be done.
Clutch some more pearls on The View while blathering about how we are now "at war." Give me a break. It was as good a surgical strike to achieve one MASSIVE objective as you can have, and expertly executed. I am celebrating our ability to smoking hole a hardened bunker fortification inside a mountain with absolutely zero resistance after taking off from the US and flying non-stop to Iran undetected. Was thinking on it last night some more. Israel also already ate the brunt of retaliation. Iran has few assets left in the form of missiles regionally to lob at us at this point.
I'm also wondering if this was to keep them from moving nuclear materials out of those facilities to pass along to other proxies.

As much as the Throbber despises war and loss of life, this action is about as close to a tolerable use of military might outside actual defense of the homeland that the The Throbber can handle.

Trump is precariously close to alienating a decent percentage of his base. Campaigning on ending the endless wars and then stepping straight into Iran with troops would be the end of his credibility.

My advice always is LIPO and there’s no sense in worrying about things that might or might not happen. Wasted energy and it’s exhausting. Look at the TugTards. Excellent poast @Swaye . Would only add that no sane person wants a nuclear armed Iran, they simply could not be allowed to complete their nuclear ambitions. Thank real god we have a president with ballz who put in place a staff with ballz. The world is a much safer place right now, and I would argue that the impact of this move goes way beyond Iran. Our ability to globally project power has again been shown to be unrivaled, and the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism has been neutered.
With that, this seems appropriate.

Friend since high school was a Marine aviator. Flew Harriers in the gulf war. Based 350 miles closer to the action than any coalition aircraft. He did some serious shit including the highway of death, scud hunting and others I won't mention. They flew their Harriers to the Gulf in two days and a crap load of air to air refueling.

Setting aside Trump's ability to run again (age, size, constitution), the magic of Trump is that his base isn't as hollow-hearted as that of the typical politician. Think card carrying liberal and Obama. They don't just break up with you. Even the intellectual portion of his base is going to soon shut up and fall in line. He's their guy. They have nowhere else to go.
