I would give my stepmom all sorts of links to articles of things that could be done to try to help my dad's dementia.
But because it came from me, she would always snap "Ron's diet is just fine. We don't need to try any changes."
And then she'd tell people "Ron is getting worse by the week. There's nothing that can be done!"
If I ever do write the story about my dad and Husky football, I would have to include many of the horrible and evil things she did on many fronts. Which is why the book will probably never be written.

That's a pretty bold claim for him to make- i.e., that Alzheimer's would be cured by now were it not for corruption at the NIH.

Look no further than Ancel Keys being paid off to promote the idea that cholesterol will kill you and sugar was good for you. We're still suffering from the consequences of that decades later.

Regardless of what he knows or doesn't, it's still bold claim to make. If it sounds to good to be to true, it probably is.

There's no evidence to suggest a diet high is saturated fat is good for you. Full stop.

You think there's no evidence because you've already made up your mind.
There's tons and tons of evidence.
People are brainwashed to think that cholesterol is bad for you. The brain for example is 65% cholesterol. Without saturated fat the body cannot fuel a healthy brain among other things by producing the needed cholesterol. When people have HDL cholesterol building up in the arteries, it's a defense mechanism by the body from ingesting too many carbohydrates/sugars/starches.
100% guarantee that your post won't age well.
Edit: Saturated fat comes from fatty meat.

For the record, my LDL number is a bit higher than the “ideal” recommended range, but I don’t stress about it as by HDL is good and all my other numbers are fine.
P.S. I ate two eggs this morning and about to grill some flank steak. -
And I’ll say that at certain point all the debates here have to translate into personal results. Otherwise it’s all malarkey.
So if the Dr Chaffee approach yields positive results in BMI, blood pressure, triglycerides, fasting glucose (or A1c) , HDL, etc, then have at it.
