I was watching the 30 for 30 on the Elway vs Marino draft day. I miss the TUFF 1980s NFL and America god damn it!!
If the Chargers were still in San Diego the NFL hadn't gotten so insufferable I might consider going all in and saying fuck it all with pro college sports.

I read an article about that the other day. As of 2015, the NFL awards the city with the highest bid to host the draft. All about the money. So they've whored that out too.

I haven't watched a draft in a few years but I hadn't consciously thought about it. But your post made me realize that part of the reason was seeing these neurotic maroons in the audience like something out of The Price is Right or whatever. The artificial hype of it all.

I remember noticing the Bengals sea captain fan or whatever and cringing - I'm sure they awarded those that dress up the most stupid for attention by putting them in a close spot so they're on TV all day pretending they know who Elic Ayomanor is. So they're rewarding these attention-seeking clowns. This guy and his girlfriend who is called like Who Dae were awarded fan of the year or some shit last year.

The price is right artificial hype is spot on, nice pull. Those people are like background noise when I view but it seems very much staged like a few rallies on tv last year.
