The Harvard Math Department will pilot a new introductory course aimed at rectifying a lack of foundational algebra skills among students, according to Harvard’s Director of Introductory Math Brendan A. Kelly.
The course, titled Math MA5, will run alongside two established math courses — Math MA and MB — with an expanded five-day schedule.
Kelly said that students in MA5 will meet with “one of two instructors all five days” with “a variety of different activities” on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
He said the Covid-19 pandemic led to gaps in students’ math skills and learning abilities, prompting the need for a new introductory course.

Can someone please remind Ms. Bannon that it was only Chrissey who said this has anything to do with DEI? I'm very certain Harvard admits lots of students who have lousy math skills, because every college not named Harvey Mudd, Cal Tech, or MIT does.

Yeah, because leftards, especially at Universities, have no interest in affirmative action for people of color except Asians. I know this is news to our mythical attorney with a hypothetical MBA. Trump's attempt to enforce the Constitution and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 has not been met with open arms by the left. Nothing says "elite world class education facility" like remedial math.

I believe it has something to do with DEI and the lesser-talented students people like you try to prop up and then act astonished when the end up in positions with no skills to perform and no people skills outside of their college safe zones.

I don’t shy away from reality. A Harvard B.A. seems to now be a Softy Green River CC Associates degree. Except for the $300,000 total cost that’s apparently funded by a state school guy like me.
I agree. What does an Ivy League degree really mean if they are offering remedial education classes? If your university presidents and many graduates can't define a woman? If you think pronouns and stolen land acknowledgements have meaning and substance? If you think that physically harassing students is appropriate if you don't like their genetic background or they voted for Trump or support ending government fraud and waste?
