Smart kid. This reminds me of Austin Joyner wanting to play DB instead of RB. Forward thinking move. Hope we get him.
Supposedly he is Kaufusi's nephew, but that guy seems like the worst recruiter on the staff. The program is going to have to find ways to use advantages like that to grab higher rated recruits than expected. Simple as that.

Ikaika was kinda a shit recruiter every other year. It’s like he had to devote two years of intense recruiting to haul in one decent class completely ignoring the next class and then doing it all over again. Getting 1 recruit followed by 4 followed by none followed by 3 was pretty frustrating. When guys like Bandes and Tuitele didn’t live up to expectations and that big kid from Hawaii quit out of the blue it really fucked the quality depth of players on UWs line all the way through 2023.
I think the reality may have been some of the highly rated guys he got may have had far less commitable offers than we realized at the time and really he was just kind of a bad recruiter the entire time.
