Say Who Hypothetical

There's an interesting hypothetical on the last Say Who pod that I hadn't thought about. Would it have been worse had DeBoer stayed for a third year and then left? I think so, but I also don't think he would've had a good enough season in 2024 to get an offer from something that's much better than a lateral move.
Long story short, I like the direction of Fisch's high school and portal recruiting a bit more than DeBoer's and I feel like if he was going to leave it was better to just rip the band aid off.

Looking forward to DeBoer missing playoffs next year and being on hot seat, wdwha

Let’s see how Austin Mack looks this year.
-
I don't think he's even projected to be the backup QB, let alone the starter.

Jack Heaner2.0

To me the DeBoer hypothetical partly comes down to Demond> > > whichever QB KDB would start. We’ll see…
-
If DeBoer stays last year he wins 6-9 games, let's say 8. Only a middle or upper-middle SEC team would come calling and off the top of my head I don't even know if anybody got fired this year. So there's no LSU, no Florida, etc to try and lure him.
He would probably be at UW 4-5 years while still wanting out of the PNW so I can't see how that situation would be better for UW. We would assuredly be out of the national conversation, if his recruiting at Washington is any indication. His recruits that have transferred out aren't going to the Power 2 and even dropping down to MWC in some cases.
At some point, whether with Grubb or DeBoer or Fisch, you have to address needing to stack talent again in a way that got you to where you were in 2023, 2022, and yes even 2021 where you had the personnel to win the conference.
-
It's almost like college football programs need to have both a HC (for X's and O's) and GM for roster management/Talent acquisitions.
-
It's just too hard to win at 'bama.
-
The SEC is going to turn into the old 2010's Pac 12 and have a bunch of imperfect teams that don't make it as far in the playoffs as they used to, and Sankey will go cry to ESPN to start up the propaganda that it's because it just means more or it's too hard down there or some stupid shit.
-
Last year's team is way different if DeBoer stays
Sorry but this retarded because Fisch isn't in the same area code
4-8 to 11-2. DeBoer would have reloaded
-
Reloaded with what?
He couldn't even reload at Alabama. There's no way Washington is having some 10+ win season last year. Absolutely no fucking way. Kalepo was gone no matter what, as was Hatchett. He's relying on the Parker twins just like Fisch was. Giving him 8 wins or 9 with a bowl is generous even for a coach like DeBoer with the lines he would've had.
-
UW stinks either way. The script.
-
People forget 2023 UW could have easily been 10-2 or dare I say, 9-3.
There were some ridiculously tight fucking games.
-
We? don't deal in hypotheticals.
DeBoer? Who?.gif
Either Fish shows up this year or move onto the next guy.
Currently leaning towards next guy as what I saw through the year didn't bode for good coaching.
Recruiting heroes make good assistants.
-
He took a 4 win team to 25-3. Retarded jilted lovers
Fisch will be lucky to hit 7 wins this year
Try the Bama board if you have an issue with last year
-
I want Fisch to win 10 next year so @PostGameOrangeSlices goes on shit talking, keef smoking rampage on the boards.
I would be no board for old men!
-
Again, reloaded with what? His class was what it was, December transfer portal is done, spring transfer portal had nothing. He didn't even have players to pull for 2024.
He has a line with 1 returning starter and his DLine is still nothing because the Parker twins aren't going to make it through a full season. I'm being extremely generous to even just give him 8 wins based on the roster he was going to have.
If you think Fisch is only going to win 7 games next year then good for you. Gives you more time to sit and spam the Trump Mcdonald's pic at leftist X bots next fall.

There's the tell. What an embarrassing thread.

These are embarrassing times to be a Husky fan.
-
No shit. I don't blame the kids for trying to polish a turd like Judd. It's pretty much what they have known
-
I don’t agree with everything you have to say about Ol’ Judd but at least I’m having a good laff
-
Race wanted to fire Don James after 1975 too.
-
50 years later PGOS runs Race, or not, either way it will be interesting

stack talent.

Schtick > actually following the program.

First, last week I was told we? don’t deal in hypotheticals here.
No shit, had DeBoer stayed last year we are better considering he took a few starters with him along with a mass exodus from a handful of players that very well could have bolted for cash being on the award winning OL from 2023 to Ole Miss/sec had DeBoer stayed. Like their previous coach, a number of players cashed in on their last year of eligibility in 2024 and 2023’s success.
And don’t pretend that the 4-8 team, most of whom were recruited and early developed by Petersen didn’t play a part in the 26-3 run the two years after the Lake debocal.
I haven’t seen anyone here claim Fisch is a better HC than our previous guy, unless I’m mistaken. DeBoer had a ton of continuity in his staff and it’s very fortunate he was Penix’s former OC when he took the UW job and struck lightening in a bottle. Westover, Culp, the entire OL except Center, including Jalen M and Rome a generational wr at UW. I’m skipping Special Teams and the D.
I wasn’t thrilled with a few decisions Fisch had as a play caller in year one but he seems to be a better recruiter and I still have a glass half full attitude since he turned around Arizona from 1 win in year one to 2 losses in year 4. He’s got work to do obviously, that’s why he’s getting the big bucks I suppose. UW has proved to do much worse in their history of hires since Don. BeBoer and Petersen were fantastic hires and it took 20+ years to get it right after Coach James resigned.

That's what I'm here for
-
JFC you doog idiots.
-
Impossible to say, because of the mass exodus that occurred after he left two days after our natty game
