I figured they either hated him or he was redshirting. Glad to see confirmation.

Such bullshit. Everyone knows a few snaps in a blowout while your teammates are doing the lawnmower on the sidelines are far more valuable to a player's development than a redshirt year. Someone should tell Peterman this isn't the fucking Mountain West.

I guess this means we redshirt and develop players at Church School. REAL God must like players to get better.

Brah-steak is an interesting case. On one hand he is the strongest guy on the team (even though bench pressing doesn't count) and has tons of Nathan Dean-like upside.
On the other hand, he came from a tiny fucking church school in Hawaii where he faced the same level of competition as a Tacoma middle school with girls on the team. On top of that, he was thrown to the wolves by Coz and dudebrah because dudebrah loved to fondle and play with his new toys as soon as he got them.
I'm hoping he will get coached up now that adults are in charge and could be a solid contributor. At least Peterman was smart enough yo realize we don't need him this year. -
Guys Sark just couldn't go around red shirting players after Owen12, do you realize the damage Ty did to the program??

The thing about this site that consistently amazes is me is how can everyone on this site clearly understand things like this (as it was obviously the case) and people elsewhere (Times' comment section was actually the worst place on earth for me for 6-7 years) can't figure out water is wet.bananasnblondes said:Brah-steak is an interesting case. The highlighted part is a poont so many of us tried to make and it was greeted with total incredulity and derision.
Thank God for this place. -
Simplistic math of Frosh weight and strength charts projected over 5 years is difficult for patron to handle. In all reality, it was difficult for ivan to handle b/c instead of the normal 5 year window, he only had 3 years before medical retirement. So in those terms, they were maximizing valueDennis_DeYoung said:

Playing Brostek right away was even dumber than the 2008 burning of Cody Bruns's redshirt.
-
Not quite as dumb, however, as burning Kevin Smith's redshirt so he could field a couple kickoffs in 2009.GreenRiverGatorz said:Playing Brostek right away was even dumber than the 2008 burning of Cody Bruns's redshirt.

Don't forget ... Brostek not only floundered as an OL under Sark, but he also got a chance or two to get steam-rolled on the d-line just for shits and giggles as well.
Now THAT my friends is player fucking development! -

Bruns still got to red shirt. And we was not that good anyway.
It's almost like football is the ultimate team game, and his record setting high school numbers were because of his quarterback, and not because of him. -
I think Peterman evaluated Shane and came to the conclusion that if the kid finally received some decent coaching, a year of it as a red shirt, his potential would be realized. So many great talents wasted away under Sark and Tyrone.
-
Ducre, Parker and Kevin Smith really hurt the most. Smith should have been RS in 2012 which gave Sark a reprieve to RS him after playing him in 2011 when we already had tons of WRs. Parker is debatable. Still, could have returned 10/11 starters from a top 20 defense.
Petersen won't make the same mistake- playing true freshman for the hell of it…he'll play guys that are needed and/or are good enough. Guys like Vita Vea, McGary, Jaylen Johnson will be beasts by the end of their RS soph years. -
Ah hem. . . it speaks to the potential of Brostek that Peterman is granting him a redshirt year and wants him around. Most of 7's players get shipped or graduate.
I believe this to be the point. -
You need half a brain for this shit to make sense.Dennis_DeYoung said:
