Favorite song in the list is Black Betty, but when I try to hear it in my head I don't hear a notable riff...more like a series of solos. Maybe I need to give it a listen...
The Chain kicks ass but it's the solo work in the outro that really stands out.
#2…God Save The Queen…regardless of context, when I hear those words, my brain auto-defaults to “she’s not a human being”…
Favorite: Rosie…my entry point to AC/DC. A buddy in high school won a radio contest, and one of the prizes was “If You Want Blood, You’ve Got it”…
God, 1977 was a shitty year for singles. Though pretty sure that was the first slow dance boner the Throbber ever experienced in junior high. With a girl, no less.
Ain't exactly pretty - ain't exactly small.
42-39-56 - you could say she's got it all!!
I can play it on my axe!
My mom went by Betty and my first wife liked to sing Black Betty in her honor. My mom put the white in white too.
Woaha Black Betty
Wham de lam
It's a great sound track song for action scenes in movies
1:40…
77 was kinda a rough year. Look at what Van Halen had to rescue the world from!
As an aside, as soon as I saw the Sex Pistols on the list I knew they'd get Yella's vote.
Christ. 1977 was a fucking epic for rock.
Steely Dan - Aja
Fleetwood Mac - Rumors
Talking Head '77
The Clash
Bill Joel - The Stranger
Plus this list neglected The Alan Parsons Project. I wouldn't Want To Be Like You was worthy of this list.
No love for Slowhand or the Motor City Madman?
Notice the Fuck You chords
I'm talking about your riff list.
JJ Cale "Cocaine" is better, boss.
Black Betty had a child.
Damn thing went wild!
