Main St vs Wall St

I’m in your camp. This is my current thinking:

The Great Reset is the one where DJT sniffs out that a MAGA dynasty is highly likely if there is asset deflation and Main St books some wins over Wall St.

If the stock market is down, housing prices are down, deep budget cuts are enacted and systems of control around future spending are implemented, then:

1) long end of the curve rewards him with lower borrowing costs

2) less deficit spending means less money borrowed which then double rewards him via (1)

3) wage suppression goes away because of tighter border security and puts more money in folks’ pockets

4) housing costs come down as do mortgage costs via (1)

I wasn’t surprised that his budget plan rewards Main St and fills the coffers via taking away from the richest folks (via cap gains and things like sport team amortization)

Along all of these lines, tariffs seem like a necessary part of the solution.
