These Shoes - Eagles
I know that @dflea and Highway to Hell is the real winner, but I'm a sucker for Talk Box riffs and Joe Walsh is the master here.
-
Highway to Hell - AC/DC
Nice list
-
These Shoes - Eagles
Let it be known I voted for an Eagles song.
-
Highway to Hell - AC/DC
I hate to pick the obvious one, but…
-
These Shoes - Eagles
It's the clear choice. They are the Alabama of riffs from 1976 to 81.
-
Highway to Hell - AC/DC
H2H will be the runaway winner. Shout out to a scrappy upstart that should've made the final cut...Message in a Bottle.
-
These Shoes - Eagles
Yeah, probably should have made the cut if I only did 1 VH and 1 AC/DC.
Sleeper pick: I love Canary in A Coalmine in 1980.
-
These Shoes - Eagles
I was gonna add Train in Vain by the Clash for @Laocoön but ran out of space.
-
F.O. Row Peter Puffer, You Left Off...
Agreed. Hundred billion castaways looking for a home.
Hell, The Police best guitar riffs would be a good pole on its own. Message in a Bottle, Roxanne, Bring on the Night, Every Breath You Take.

F.O. Row Peter Puffer, You Left Off...
let's not forget @YellowSnow hates chocolate people.
(Technically released in 1978 so he gets a pass here).

These Shoes - Eagles
Sheesh. You can't hold my jock strap on the music of the late 70s and early 80s Green Lake Bruthas, pod-nuh.

F.O. Row Peter Puffer, You Left Off...
Dude. I went to a black high school and balled out. Boom box Parliament, Ohio Players and Confunktion accompanied every practice.
-
These Shoes - Eagles
My HS had one black kid out of 550 students. But still, my collection of jazz, blues, soul, funk is impressive.
-
Highway to Hell - AC/DC
'Walk All Over You' is the best guitar work on the H2H album.
H2H still earns my vote and is rightly beating the pants off the competition here.
-
Highway to Hell - AC/DC
Clearly a DEI record. TITTT
-
These Shoes - Eagles
@BleachedAnusDawg I expect VH to carry the day in 2 or 3 of these but the AC DC riff juggernaut is usually going to carry the day on college football message board of mostly 40 to 70 year old white males.
-
Beautiful Girls - Van Halen
VH2 is more party energy versus anthemic rock style stuff. "Beautiful Girls" is kind of a lame EVH riff track, but after re-listening this AM it is probably the most recognizable from a commercial standpoint.
VH2 might actually have the fewest huge commercial hit songs of all the DLR-era albums. I have not done that research, just spitballing here. ATBS, I love most of the VH2 album and play songs like "Outta Love Again" and "Somebody Get Me a Doctor" more often than tracks like "Unchained" or "Panama." I like AVH's drumming on VH2 more than any other of their albums (on the whole, not individual tracks).
"Dance the Night Away" sucks ass, though.
-
These Shoes - Eagles
Boo! Dance the Night Away is top tier VH.
Although, D.O.A. is my most favorite track on VH2.
-
Beautiful Girls - Van Halen
Look, big dog, in the BAD book of Van Halen, Dance the Night Away is almost as bad as Jump. Too much pop.
-
I'm Bad I'm Nationwide - ZZ Top
Those are their best songs
-
Beautiful Girls - Van Halen
-
Highway to Hell - AC/DC
Just going down a worm hole, and Joe Walsh - In the City.
-
Highway to Hell - AC/DC
Warriors come out to play
-
I'm Bad I'm Nationwide - ZZ Top
2 days in a row I’ve seen someone post a clip from The Warriors. Might be a sign I need to watch it again.
-
These Shoes - Eagles
Walsh was the best Eagle rather easily.
-
Highway to Hell - AC/DC
Nah Don Henley was the heart and soul. It was Henley Frey. Walsh was the best guitarist but isn't an original member
-
These Shoes - Eagles
I kid. I kid.
But I love me some Walsh. He’s fucking funny.
-
Highway to Hell - AC/DC
Walsh is under rated. James Gang and his solo career are top shelf

These Shoes - Eagles
@Dennis_DeYoung had me assist with making the playlist for 2019 TSIO Rose Bowl tailgate to be played on @UW_Doog_Bot's shitty fucking boom box.
You can bet your ass "Life's Been Good" was on there. My Maserati does 185.
The sound sucked and Bot slept through the 1st half after getting a roofy from @backthepack but still.
-
Highway to Hell - AC/DC
Chinned for roofy reference.
Also random Big Mouth Joe Walsh appearance:
