Seahawks/Huskies
Bill mentioned something in a previous thread about the 12’s and overlap with Husky football. It got me thinking…
How much of the UW demographic are Seahawks fans and vice versa. Do most 12’s follow the hawks and pro football only or is there a sizable contingent of fans that follow both?
What is you guys perspective on this?
I’ve always been a big fan of Husky football and a casual observer of Seahawk and pro football, I’m sure the majority could be opposite of that.

I was 121 years old when the Seahawks came. For pro football I was a Niners and Raiders fan
Husky fan from birth
No comparison for me

I didn’t know you were Hispanic

i root for and follow both. College football is more fun to me and I care more about it. Although it's getting less interesting as they keep messing things up to "make it better".

Interestingly I know UW alums who follow both but follow the hawks more. Following the hawks was very much more inclusive to a lot of people, including newcomers who didn't feel they needed to pick a side (UW v WSU). That and more recently, well since the huskies started sucking, which coincided with really an impressive run by the Seahawks, the coverage for the hawks has far outpaced the huskies, which wasn't the case when I was younger.
I follow both but Huskies > Seahawks.

Go Bolts!
Foutsy is my neighbor.

NFL is for people who don’t know how to read and just couldn’t get in to NASCAR. They’ve gone and fucked up college football to the point that it is now truck racing. Fox sports knew what we wanted before we did.

I was a Seahawks fan before I was a Huskies fan. Went to games in their inaugural season and witnessed some really weird shit.
Became a Huskies fan only when I went to UW, so Seahawks had a head start. And while I still am a big Seahawks fan, I care far more about UW. I’m able to move on from Seahawks losses minutes after the game.
But I’m still pissed off about that UW loss to Nevada like it was yesterday.

My NFL fandom has never had any loyalty. I liked the Pats when they won their first SB, then hated them except for when they lost to the Giants, who I always hate. I liked the Chargers with Dan Fouts. In most years I end up picking a different team and rooting for them through the playoffs, but pay no attention otherwise.
I have cared about the Seahawks a couple of times, ever. I rooted for the Dave Krieg, Curt Warner, Steve Largent teams but never really cared that much. I watched and cheered when they won the super bowl, and I laughed at them when they blew it.
The UW loyalty will never go away, but how interested and attentive I am about it is in doubt.

My casual observations going to a few NFL games are that the fans are…..different… in a Oregon Ducktard, Ozympic kind of way

Seahawks fans are a mix of white trash from SE King County and hipsters (when they're winning) who think it's cool to pay $16 for Rainier tallboys.
