Can't wait to hate him.
-
looks like he will bust out with “Minnie the Moocher” on a dime.
-
-
I was trying to place the face but Cab Calloway definitely nails it.
Kudos.
-
UW lists him as just DC and not DC/Safeties, so that means we'll likely get another position coach on D
-
I’m hoping for an elite recruiting edge or DL coach or a full time special teams coordinator like ND has. Walters can help recruit safeties with his background. Lake coached both positions and seemed to do fine here. Kafusi appears to be the weakest link as a recruiter and obviously the special teams sucks so pick your poison on who you hire.
-
Great. Now I can’t unsee it.

DAWG
-
Maybe Cab Calloway was his granddad and that's why Fisch hired him
-
Of the Harlem Calloways?
-
No, the Coney Island Calloways.
-
A legitimately great hire. Natty incoming no doubt.

I once worked for this guy. General Honore. I think he made to 3 star. He was a bit of a stuffed uniform, but he was entertaining. He used the phrase “you’re stuck on stupid” and told us “this ain’t Burger King. You don’t it get it your way”. I used to do an impression of him doing the Minnie the Moocher as an Army briefing. I got caught by his COS. He made me do it in front of Honore. True story. Honore loved it. Once saw him in HEB in Copperas Cove TX with an entire shopping cart full of nothing but booze.

Why would you wait?

I’m on record as wanting James fired in September 1974.
-
Downward trajectory when UW hired him
-
Good poont!
-
The Raging Cajun. Turned into a libtard.
TITTT -
Prep work for Walters' first pick six out of some disguised coverage. TSIO.

b1g dick hire by fisch
-
When was the last time we just went out and hired the best available coordinator with no connection to the program? Wilcox?
Great hire
-
Wilcox is a good comp
-
Jim Owens was coaching UW in Sept 1974. Unless you're saying you wanted him fired from Kent State
-
Take away three games in 2012 where the opponent hit 41, 52, and 52 (Arizona @iDawg ) and the Wilcocks D held teams under 20 on average
Oregon and ASU worked him in 2013
His overall DC record is better than I recalled because Sark.
Early on January 2, 2012, reports emerged that Wilcox was to become the new defensive coordinator at Washington in Seattle, under head coach Steve Sarkisian. The position was vacant due to Nick Holt's termination days earlier,[9] and the announcement was made official later that night.[10] The Huskies were 7–6 in 2012 and lost in the Las Vegas Bowl. Washington was 9–4 in 2013 and won the Fight Hunger Bowl; Sarkisian left after the regular season for USC.
Wilcox followed Sarkisian to USC and was the defensive coordinator; the Trojans went 9–4 in 2014 and won the Holiday Bowl. After five games in 2015, Sarkisian was fired and succeeded by Clay Helton. The Trojans finished 50th nationally in scoring defense (25.7 points per game) and 65th in total defense (400.8 yards per game) in 2015,[11] and Wilcox was terminated the day after the loss to Stanford in the Pac-12 championship game.[12]
On January 28, 2016, Wilcox became the defensive coordinator at Wisconsin, under head coach Paul Chryst.[13] The Badgers went 11–3 and won the Cotton Bowl with a defense ranked in the top ten in a number of categories.[14]

always liked Wilcox as a DC. Always surprised he’s lasted so long as a head coach
-
Wilcox was borderline elite under Petersen and Chryst. He was decent under CuttySark and Dooley. He was poor under Helton. Head coach matters.
-
I hated the annual blowouts with Wilcox. I agree, though, that it was probably a product of head coach. The whole team seemed unprepared whenever they walked out and grabbed ankles. Doing it three times per season gave me a bad taste in my mouth for Wilcox, though. Maybe unfairly.
-
I bet those blowouts were away games where sark did “the squat” on the sidelines, with jaundiced skin and purple eye bags.
-
I think this is a better hire than Wilcox by a decent bit. Wilcox was a bigger upgrade though.
