On debating the accomplishment of Lanning as head coach at Oregon, it got me thinking. Other than his first game against Georgia, has Lanning coached a game where his team went in as underdogs? I'm pretty sure they were slightly favored against tOSU at home this year.
They were underdogs against tOSU in the Rose Bowl game. Wasn't UW a slight favorite at home against Oregon last year? Ultimately, they did lose both of those games.
I really don't think Lanning is anything special. Oregon has maintained a high level of success across several coaches because of the Nike hype/recruiting/NIL machine. A lot of coaches could be successful there right now, IMO.
lol. What’s Jedd’s biggest win in his career? #15 OU with their backup qb and a ton of opt outs in the Alamo bowl?
you’re list is also missing a top ten win over Utah in 2022, which is easily better than any win Jeb has ever had. But I’m ok excluding it because I don’t rate that trash ass Ute program even when they’re top ten
Nope, it was actually Anna Marie Cauce who insisted on keeping the Apple Cup going. During Dannen's intro presser, he was asked about it… he basically said, no, probably not ideal to keep it going, and she interrupted him and said the Apple Cup will continue for the foreseeable future. The look on Dannen's face when that happened is pretty telling in hindsight.

3.5 point dogs to Ohio state in Eugene and 2.5 point dogs in the rose
3.5 point dogs in Seattle last year
I think that’s it. I think Oregon was -3 vs Utah in 2023 but I may have it flipped.
Lanning has hired very good coaches (Dillingham, Junior Adams, Tosh, their OL coach)…he definitely deserves credit for that.
But at the same time, if I had Phil Knight's money backing me, I'd be able to outbid anyone else for those coaches too.
The hundreds of millions that PK has paid into the Oregon facilities helps as well.
tosh is not a good coach
Insane recruiter and a good DL coach. Not the best DC though.
good point. Make him recruiting coordinator and hire a real DC.
His wife is from the Seattle area so maybe he wants to return to Seattle and coach DTs. Can he coach special teams too?
Would love to return the favor for poaching Junior Adams.
He’s definitely more of a cocaine kind of guy.
Junior's WR rooms at O might float away with a strong gust. I don't understand the strategy.
Fuck Tosh. Oregon would be better off without him. He's not needed as a recruiter anymore and he's not a good coach.
The only big games big game Lanning has won:
Otherwise, plunger to Georgia, plunger to Ohio State in Rose Bowl, L x2 as the best team of all time against UW.
Congrats on beating Liberty in the Biberty bowl

Jedd wasn't handed the Nike Logo keys to the Lamborghini.
He was handed the keys to a totaled Geo Metro at Arizona, and a beat up 2004 Honda Accord at UW after 90% of great players graduated or transferred.
Can Jedd get UW into the Lamborghini? Tune in September to find out. @ WSU in September will tell us a LOT about the future of ole Jeddidiah
you guys play at coug next year instead of at a neutral site? Christ. Was that chun?
But where is his Bears hat?
