Official old man stretching thread
Touch your toes THEN pop off
Some day after hundreds of hours of yoga and thousands more of other stretching I hope I can get my right hip to be as flexible as my left one. Foam rollers, massage guns, and massages have all tried and failed. It probably just is what it is. No matter how much time I spend in pigeon pose.

I couldn’t touch my toes when I was 15. Sure as hell can’t do it now

Disagree.

I wish I had 30 mins a day to focus on stretching and foam roller work.
I get buy with the bare minimum but could be doing so much better.

Doc told me years ago to stretch. Best thing for aging

Cheers to that guy - heck of a turnaround and supports my hypothesis that Yoga solves a ton of problems. It's gotten rid of a bunch of nagging knee and ankle/foot issues for me, which physical therapy could not do (or needed more time). Hasn't been able to get the right hip to move the same as the left one though. Also still need to work on overall low back health; it's pretty good but would be better if I quit golf or did something. And my IT bands can never get enough attention.
It's a PITA right? My new thing is to just hang from a pull-up bar for as long as I can to try to get everything stretched at once and keep my spine long. I also send plenty of emails while in some hamstring or hip stretch while standing at the kitchen table.

I thought this thread was going to be about buttholes

I have the same hypothesis about Yoga. Used to do a ton of hot yoga before covid. Lots of hot soccer milfs do hot yoga in these parts.

Two thoughts on the hip. Take them w a grain of salt.
My chiropractor does a "scouring" technique on the ball-socket which has helped a lot for my current hip issue. Also, supplementally, Udo's Oil is good for joint health with its blend of Omega 3/6/9

Just get a new hip. My wife had to get a new hip in her early 40's (100% bone on bone arthritis).

Oh hell naw. I am AGAINST unnecessary surgery. But I have seen many people do very well after a hip replacement. Quite impressive.
I should be clear that my hip is fine it is just less flexible than the other one and that annoys me. Perfect is the enemy of good yada yada
