How many days has it been that haie has been been hiding like a bitch?

You've been at the "top tier" once, with a very similar result to Oregon one of the two times they were in that position. If we're talking Conference Championships and Rose Bowls and BCS Bowl wins advantage Oregon.
-
I just said it give the edge to Oregon, but your top "top tier" remark I disagree with. Any reasonable fan would consider a Final 4 type season "top tier".
Top 4 Finishes:
Oregon -
2001 #2
2010 #3
2011 #4
2012 #4
2014 #2
Washington
2000 #3
2016 #4
2023 #2
Again, edge Oregon here, but Washington has had more than 1, and they've come more recently than Oregon's Chip heavy period of success.
If Lanning can pull if off this year, then you can rub it in our noses all you want. Until then it's an exercise in who's the King of Silver and Bronze medals.

Everyone fights over silver and bronze besides a few programs. Otherwise why bother?
Fiesta Bowl
Rose Bowl
Fiesta Bowl
Rose Bowl
Rose Bowl
Fiesta Bowl
2 finals
vs
Rose Bowl
23 years…
Sugar Bowl
1 final
And if you start adding up top 5-10 finishes the field expands to laughable.
This argument feels out of date, I guess, but I don’t know how we start fighting about things in the future yet (playoff win hair splitting?) but up until August of 2024 this is how we did it.We are (we were?) not the same.

Football started in 2000. lol

Most importantly, pal, I'm 3-2 against the Ducks since becoming an Oregonian.

For some of us. For others it ended.

Heard something interesting the other day. the last “first time” CFB champion was Florida in 1996.
#silverandbronze

I checked wiki and found they claim the start was after the 1998 season when the Pac and Big joined in. Tennessee won
However
The BCS did start after the 96 season so it's Florida. It's why 97 had Nebraska and Michigan split. Nebraska won the BCS
Florida also won the first stand alone BCS in 2007.
History is written by Florida

You and I have a different definition of "top tier" Playing in a game to determine who is the National Champ is the "top tier." Beating an 8-4 Purdue team in the Rose Bowl doesn't cut it.

2000 Miami was probably the best team in the country that year. Axe @creepycoug
