I just posted the Caple story in Swaye's Wigwam. I liked this quote from Carson. The lone bright spot on the day.
“It’s definitely emotional, but this team has a bright future,” Bruener said, seated next to Demond Williams Jr. as Oregon fans partied on the field, just around the corner and up the tunnel. “I mean, we have our fucking star quarterback in the making right here. He got his first start against the No. 1 team in the country on the road, and he played like that? It’s just phenomenal. I was amazed watching him. I couldn’t be more proud of him.”

Race disagrees.
PGOS agrees
bruener gets it. Fisch really did the program a disservice not going to him way sooner, though.
I go back and forth on this. It’s easy to say we’d be 8-4 if starting demond all year but who knows how he would have played if we just threw him out there. Probbaly should be 8-4 anyway. Fisch has a history of going with the wrong qb, but it’s possible he gave Demond the right amount time to get his feet wet before taking over. .
All comes down to whether you’d rather have a quarterback next year with a full year of service under his belt or an appearance in the Fuckall Fruitloops Bowl.
If not next year maybe the year after that
5 road games in 2026
2027 will be special.
but then our guy JW would have had nothing to do last night.
@HuskyJW
he went into the portal and then came back
Some booster gave him a considerable amount of money to stay. That had to played into him starting the whole season.
Boise payed the transfer QB from USC a sizable amount of money and he lost the job to a guy already on the roster. The coach benched a guy making more than anyone on the team other than Jeanty. Williams should have been playing five weeks ago. That’s what a confident coach would have done.
I love Bruener in a gay way
Taylor Rapp would have quit in October
I actually didn't know that. Kinda disappointing, especially since he grew up in a 10,000 sq foot house near the wineries of Woodinville the son of a father who has NFL money and whose family had money before that. It's not like he's a kid from the hood whose life would change with the money. I guess he was pissed about playing time, but I will tell you, and this I know pretty close to first hand, that is a Washington family. if any of that trickled down to the kid, he is a Washington kid through and through. but, he may also have his own NFL dreams, and you can't realize those cheering for your teammates from the bench.
I think it was good to start Rogers until this week. Introducing a young QB is a product roll out with more implications for recruiting and portal next year than winning this year.
Iowa, Indiana, and Penn St. were not good places to have Demond start and look ordinary, lose confidence.
Rogers was obviously good enough to beat the shit teams UW played at home. Meanwhile Demond proves that he can get it done in the redzone during the garbage time losses, with no interceptions or stupid turnovers.
Rogers got worse as the season wore on and made it easy for Fisch.
Carson Bruener is a Husky Legend, rather easily.
should’ve started Day 1
I'm pretty sure he was talking about Rogers.
oh.
If the OL were average for the B1G, this team would have won 7-8 games now. The OL should be at least average next year and 8 wins should happen. Need 2 big DTs and a LB in the portal. Demond can win +1-2 Big games with some of his big plays.
9 wins next year
8
