The NFL gives every team from the Giants and Jets to the Jags equal TV money. It's very egalitarian. Before they started ruining with stupid rules and woke bullshit (tittt), it was a pretty good system. College football could do something similar and put in a stipulation that you lose NIL money if you transfer four times….or continue with this abomination.
I've never been a Muhammad hater. But I've used him as an example of going to three teams in three years…. And then 20-30 years from now he's looking back and he doesn't have that treasured experience of spending 5 years with a class and developing and going through the ups and downs with your brothers and having that school's colors running through your blood until your dying day. That kind of experience is becoming a dinosaur.
Mario Bailey had a very logical and measured take on Jabbar recently. He will never be welcomed home by former Husky legends. Also mentioned he won’t be welcomed back on footfall Sat and scrubbed in future team pics of last year’s team in the future, not because he transferred but where. He will probably mention his high school during those live game intros pregame and list Oregon his actual university on his NFL bio. I also don’t dislike him as many here. I feel different about the two Seattle kids that grew up in Seattle but transferring to Miami and Ole Miss to cash especially Powel? since this is real money for him, maybe he needs to help family. But Oregon lame
It's really hard for me to have a solid adult stance on any of this. The doog in me gets pissed but the cloak and dagger shit around NIL gives me some pause. We don't know how much guys are offered to go to places compared to somewhere else. Lets say Kalepo and Beulow were really offered like $750k to go to Ole Piss and go 9-3 (I said that was gonna happen btw) but were only offered $300k to stay at UW. Are we really supposed to expect 22 year olds to make that sacrifice to stay home, and who have also been at the same place for six years and are fringe NFL guys who might never have another chance to get paid a decent amount to experience living somewhere else.
Muhammad is a bit different as he was a mercenary UW paid to get away from Okie State who probably would have went to Oklahoma had they paid him. I would have thought someone would have bonded with the program enough in a year like 2023 to not turn around and go to their terrorist rival but again if Texas is offering you $700k and Oregon offers $1.2mil (that this is a possibility is just so dumb) when you're like a fringe NFL guy and just decent college CB what do you do? I also wonder if he would've taken reps away from his cousin had he gone to Texas.
Oregon nabbed Muhammad simply because they could. He’s good but he ain’t all that. Ducks just threw money at him to say “fuck you” to UW. And Muhammad took it. Would I have done the same thing?
He also got to plug into the Oregon hype and sponsored content train. I remember he popped up in the first round of some mock drafts after transferring and I laughed knowing these guys hadn't really watched him and weren't aware he might be as short as 5'6.
Mercenaries gonna mercenary. I'm not pissed at Jabbar per se but I'm going to root for the field versus his ACL.
WA state recruits have a much better chance of staying 5 years. It's why I would rather a WA 3 star than a Cali 4 star more often than not. This program has not taken enough chances on in state talent. The Urlachers, Kupps, Moores of the world are out there.
This state is underrated for high school football. Fucking GK beat the best team from Georgia a few years back in Vegas
True, but UW needs to go all out with NIL to keep the in state 5 and 4 stars at home, even if they don't pan out it builds rapport with the HS programs and community at large.
If the 3 stars don't get a big bag so be it, they should've done better in high school and at camps.
30-40% if you want to dominate the M.West type teams and then Boise would likely kick our ass at 50%
… closer to 15-25% after our previous 5 star qb/DE. At least the WA kids might stick it out for 4 years including a redshirt before they are poached in a lame duck year after Deboer left. I don’t forgive him because he wasn’t all in vs Michigan but that’s on upper campus (liberals) just like they ran out James.

He was cristoballed to Texas, where he’s from and where his cousin plays. You think they have light bags?
He didn’t have to fucking do it.
Fuck that twat.

One of the guys on SNF last night introduced himself as "from the Hill and the Ville"
He played at UNC Chapel Hill and Louisville
Portal introductions are now here
The next time logic holds sway(e)? in this place will be the first time.
Fuck. That. Guy.

Sure.
But still.

Sure.gif
Boston and Giles better play with some throat feces tomorrow against him
So you fuck a girl who you know is married. Had a good time. She leaves the guy and starts seeing you.
You have some good times. Thinking about making this permanent. Then she fucks another guy and leaves you for him.
And you’re not only surprised, but you’re mad too? Lolz
Time to grow up. most of these kids didn’t grow up around here and DNGAF. Some of them are smart enough to act like they do. They don’t.
Guys like Bruener are the exception to the rule. Embrace them. They are rare and becoming more so as time goes on.

it’s underrated but unlike Cal, Fl, Tx and LA you can’t build a program on it. You just can’t.

30 to 40% of the roster should be home grown.
I'm laughing while shaking my head.

Maybe UW paid him to go to Oregon to be a plant for today's game. A double heel turn would be an explosive turn of events.
Does he have a pager?
