It doesn't matter, even if he has to run again in the special election, he won the previous election with 66% of the vote. The special election would be a simple formality.

Even if that's true. if Gaetz is actually a pedo I would prefer him to not be part of the government running the country. Find someone who will drain the swamp and is not a pedo with massive baggage. Should not be hard to figure that out. Trump gave his enemies ammunition when he nominated Gaetz. Or maybe he did it just to see which R's revolted against the pick to out them for future issues.

Right now the only evidence of that are leaked accusations on a case that was deemed DOA by a Democrat controlled DOJ. Call me somewhat still skeptical.
