I talk to too many of my Seattle Democrat neighbors who are tired of the woke to think there's no backlash coming. A reminder that Ann Davison won her race for prosecutor is appropriate here. Nothing is forever and you're already seeing some pushback success.

Our jungle primary system here basically guarantees business as usual for the senate. Patty and Maria will be there as long as Feinstein. Jayapal probably thinks she’s worthy of a promotion, but she wouldn’t dare challenge the power structure.

  • HHuskyHHusky Member Posts: 20,872

Maybe Patty will run at age 78. I don't think that's a sure thing. She would be vulnerable for reasons of age as well as other reasons.

Who knows. She’s never had a serious primary opponent that I can remember. Washington state swamp doesn’t allow those things to happen. If she ever decides not to run, will be interesting jockeying for position. Could see Dow, Delbene, Smith, Jayapal and maybe Schrier thinking they are the next chosen one.My money would be on Delbene out of that group.

Poor word choice. You only support far left communist/socialist/fascist ideologies and all the associated goose stepping.

Good luck convincing the dem elites who run the party that they need to get their fingernails dirty. Not one of those silver spoon Buffy's and Biff's have ever held a shovel let alone used it. Its been two weeks since the blowout and they are still calling their fellow Americans stupid. They literally don't understand how much their beliefs and mouths have hurt them.

This woman sounds level headed but she is in bed with a cesspool of really slimy characters like schiff, pelosi, The Bitch, schumer, etc. People who would off their own mothers for power over the people.

I see her flipping sides somewhere down the road. If not she turns into one of those slime balls. You can't be a leader in the democrat party if you don't gleefully and purposefully ruin innocent lives for your politics.

Stop talking down to people, as if they're too dumb to know what's politically good for them. Treat those who work with their hands with the same respect and regard as people holding jobs with fancy degrees. And, perhaps above all, run more candidates who've gotten dirt under their fingernails, mud on the soles of their boots or grease stains on their coveralls.

"The track record of success is not whether you went to an Ivy League institution," Gluesenkamp Perez said, but rather "what that person has done with their life, how they've contributed to their community, beyond building a resume that's traditionally credentialed."

Thinking long term, Marie could be in the Senate for decades if things worked out. However, Schrier would also have some of the same appeal to centrists, while also having King County name recognition. She is also the youngest, I believe, of the others you mentioned. But Marie is decidedly younger than all of the others, Schrier included.

Hegseth, Gaetz, and Daddy clearly hold the moral high ground here. #ProtectorsOfWomen

Define many. I don't and if Race doesn't, there's a good chance you don't understand the meaning of many just like you don't understand almost any subject debated here.

So, a convicted male sex felon goes to a women only nude spa and is kicked out. The Washington Human Rights Commission rules that women have no rights and have to admit the male. They appeal. A Clinton judge supports the Washington commission. You think anyone running for a dem Senate seat in Washington is going to back the women spa owners or female customers? Clearly, neither Patty or Maria nor the dementia patient nor Headboard or the dem Senate majority leader or the House minority leader is willing to take on the transgender mafia. You think open border Marie is going to to be the one?

Rantz: Judge claims ‘female only’ Olympus Spa is akin to ‘whites only’ business

In a puzzling and offensive exchange, a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals judge likened a female-only Olympus Spa policy to a “whites-only” policy. The remark was made during a federal appeals court hearing in which Olympus Spa is challenging the state of Washington for mandating the admission of transgender women (biological men) into the spa via the Washington Human Rights Commission.

Olympus Spa is a traditional Korean spa with locations in Tacoma and Lynnwood that operates under a “female-only policy” restricting transgender women unless they have “gone through post-operative sex confirmation surgery,” according to court documents. The spa cites the rule as “essential for the safety, legal protection, and well-being of our customers.”

The policy is based on the owner’s Christian values that demand “modesty as between the sexes” and that “a male and female should not ordinarily be in each other’s presence while in the nude unless married to each other.” The spa attracts deeply religious customers. It also has employees who “refuse to perform massages or body scrubs on naked men.”

But Judge M. Margaret McKeown appeared skeptical of a female-only admissions policy.

“If you have a law that says ‘white applicants only,’ this is ‘biological women entrance only.’ It seems to me they’re quite parallel there,” McKeown said. “And you can’t have ‘white people only’ come into my restaurant, and then you say, ‘Well, no, we have a religious, spiritual nature to our restaurant, and when you get there, we serve you special food.’ This seems quite different.”

I'm sorry you didn't understand the exchange. Or are you saying you and Race are Democrats now?

Ummm, "open border Marie" is a very clear sign you don't know what you are talking about . . . for anyone who was still on the fence about that.

Marie barely won her re-election based on abortion. Kent is an abortion absolutist and decided that a compromise position was untenable and it was more important to put an unlimited abortion support back in office. Marie voted against the House Bill H.R. 2 which would have had actual border security. You leftards like to pretend that supporting amnesty with a promise of some sort of actual border security in the future and a vague promise of some deportations is actual border security. Can't find the campaign ad but it was effective showing how much Marie was interested in actual border security. She later went on to mouth the same border security sh*t that Chuck Schumer supports.

House Dem in Trump district takes heat for saying ‘nobody stays awake at night’ over border crisis
    Fox News
    Adam Shaw

A Washington state Democrat in a district that voted for former President Trump is under fire from Republicans for comments last year in which she said that “nobody stays up at night” because of the crisis at the southern border.

Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, D-Wash., who won her seat in an upset in 2022, was on Pod Save America in March when she made the comments about the ongoing border crisis — arguing that most Americans have other things to worry about.

“Listen, nobody stays awake at night worrying about the southern border,” she said. “That’s just not…people stay awake at night worrying that their kid is gonna relapse or that, you know, someone’s going to drop out of school or they’re going to lose their house.”

This doesn't refute anything I said. She voted against border security. She minimized its importance. Her number one emphasis was on women's right to an abortion. Just like with Headboard, if Marie wanted border security, she could have made a point of it that included some specifics. Unlike you, I don't like to swallow bull shit. If you vote against something, I'll take that over using magic words like "I support border security". If Joe Kent says he supports an absolute national abortion ban, then I believed him. So did a lot of independent voters who then swallowed her support for undefined border security.

Hard to convince anyone whose views are simply articles of faith.
