Remember the problem with Leach’s offense particularly against good defenses? They couldn’t score in the red zone. They ate up a lot of shitty Pac-12 and Big 12 Ds but struggled to do much against decent defenses and Rogers is a product of that system.
I would think having Coleman could help that but I think the OLine is so bad in condensed space it’s still a struggle.
Rogers is pretty good. You're shtick of oversimplifying everything is fun and probably pretty accurate 81% of the time but in this instance it's just NFL fan behavior taking attention away from the real problems
That's a great point, and I don't remember or didn't watch them too closely that year, but Minshew seemed like a major upgrade because he could finally escape the pocket and do some things on the run. Defense having less space to cover started opening up again by having to account for that.
Then they went to Anthony Gordon who was a vastly superior passer to Minshew but couldn't do anything with his legs and had the same problems as Falk, etc.
I feel like I remember a ton of the Cougs moving the ball between the 20s then turning the ball over on downs, getting sacked a lot and settling for FGs in the red zone.
I think Rogers is fine. He could be the second or third best QB of any QB we play this year and would probably have a huge season had DeBoer stayed and we kept last year’s OL sans Fautanu and 50/50 Rosengarten.
He’s also not helped by almost never having short fields but part of that problem is we aren’t able to get ahead of or tie these shitkicker offenses and force their QB to have to make plays and turn the ball over other than Michigan and kind of Coug but then the offense couldn’t finish the job.
Oregon gave up 200 yards rushing and 300 total and pitched a shutout against Purdue. You have to run the fucking football, or have ELITE receivers who just moss motherfuckers down there.
Fisch called a speed option with Rogers. I feel like this is being over analyzed. UWs offense is full of talented players and the interior of the Oline is functional. The issue is the coaches

Interesting you said Leach was the issue with that instead of his various qbs

Good point about the shorter fields. UW Special Teams isn't doing the offense any favors.
All we can hope is that the bye week gets guys mentally and physically refreshed and the special teams improves with more focused work on it.

Meet Race Bannon. That's his schtick.
Old.Man.Yard.Yelling.Clouds.
Although, during the Iowa game, I did say "That's it. I've had it with Rogers. Start/play Demond. Now. "
So I'm right
Got it
The beauty of being older is stripping away all of the bullshit and emotion very early in the thought process.
Advanced stats with PFF say otherwise. But I’ll let you drown in your drunken misery.
PFF
lol
4-3
is no one willing to say UW’s placekicker is shit?
yep we should bench all of our Captains. How dare they let us lose. Start with the shit place kicker. Fire Jedd.
that 0.01 second longer he takes to throw compared to Penix is the reason for 4-3, agreed.
Stats are for losers
thanks Phil.
By the way I'm only miserable when sober
