Here's something for you. Let's say Fisch is getting NFL interest towards the end of the 2025 season after having a better year. Let's also say Grubb has let it be known that he is interested in the Husky HC job. Let's also say that DeBoer finishes 8-5 this year at Alabama and is on his way to 9-4 next season but through back channels, let's Pat Chun know that he's miserable in Alabama, his wife is miserable, and he wants to come back.
Would you want Grubb, take DeBoer back after his says he made a massive mistake and the grass isn't always greener, go for someone like Chris Kleiman of Kansas State?
As for Grubb and all other coordinators, got to see them run a program or two before they can take key to our program.
We need to search for the next dude, Cignetti and Kleiman types are indeed intriguing.
Need to strive for that coach that can average 10-11 win a season and a chance to go deep in playoffs every 4 years is probably where our program stands.
But then no, fisch ain't getting no NFL interest.
Our best hope is Florida pulls USC a la Saint Haden and bail us out again.
Barry Odom is intriguing, definitely interested to see how he closes out 2024 and how he does in 2025 since he was fired from Missouri towards the end of 2019.
Albeit, he was only a .500 coach at Mizzou, but seems to have found his stride at UNLV. The whole situation with Sluka was messy and some programs probably won't touch him cuz of it, but they haven't missed a beat with the 2nd stringer. I highly doubt UNLV will be able to stop Jeanty this week though.
I kind of agree with the monopoly money argument but the money was irrelevant just like DeBoers future cause neither party should be interested in getting back together under any circumstances
It's a crap shoot. You never know how a coach will pan out at any given program. All I'm saying is Odom seems to be doing something right at UNLV cuz they were dogshit for years before him.
Something does feel off with DeBoer at Bama right now (was Grubb the real brains?), but his track record is still his track record.
There is a non-zero chance of this in the next few years given Bama's impatience, Fisch's career track record of moving on to the next big thing quickly and DeBoer's daughter BLEEDING purple and SHITTING gold.
There are so many variables that make a good or great coach. Staff, administration, and players. You can be a great coach and be slightly off in one of those categories and you suck. It’s possible to be a good coach with exceptional skill at the other two factors and everyone will paint you as a great coach.
I know @dtd kidding but it is chinteresting that Arizona has fallen off after Fisch / staff left. Like UW, they also had to surprisingly scramble to fill holes but they still have their two best players (Fifita and McMillan) and returned a decent amount of other starters.
DeBoer can't even work with a roster than made a 4 team CFP in the hardest conference in college football. He's devolving into what he was at Fresno where he's losing to shitty teams even.
What the fuck was he going to do with a legit roster rebuild, and he doesn't even have a group of young talent to go follow him like Fisch had.

As much as I wanted deboer to stay, once he left, the bridge's been burned — fuck that guy.
As for continued shit take from resident doogs, keep coping deboer only won with Petersen recruits, deboer couldn't put the game away, bark bark bark.
Enjoy your moral victories with $7.75m fisch and be proud we? have more talented team than Northwestern and Rutgers, good riddance.

LikeWeSayNo.gif — that boat has sailed.

I'd add Barry Odom to that list. What he's been able to do at UNLV so far has been impressive.
I'm not as high on him but someone to keep on the list.

As a UW first and (former?) Bama fan. KDB to Bama has been a nightmare. Not a ty willingham nightmare, but still...
Why is this even a thread. Embarrassing imo.

Lots of goalpost moving going on here.
Suddenly, bringing DeBitch back is the same as DeBitch and all the staff and all the NFL players and all the Petersen 6th year guys never leaving.
Jonathan Smith.
I'd add Jedd Fisch to that list. What he's been able to do at Arizona so far has been impressive.
Also fuck you Vanilla, worthless POS.

This thread has AIDS

All the players that were losers under Lake? It’s almost as if the head coach matters. A lot.
Lotta hypotheticals in this thred. We? Don't deal in hypotheticals.
