Stascausky Completes Flip from Minnesota to UW to Oregon

This news never got a thread, just like the other I posted a minute ago. That's because the new board mod guy is already slacking.

Wait, we got the Minnesota OL to flip to us?!?!
-
I don't recall implying that it was breaking news.
-
Wait, this didn't just happen today?!?!
-
-
Just upgraded to a 4* following Georgia offer and inevitable Oregon offer
-
Jump from 76th best OT to 30th. Definitely a big recruiting win, stealing a 4* from a conference rival
-
As cool as this is won't feel good about it until the ink dries and he turns down the Georgia and potential Oregon offer. They've run out of Crisco linemen so they are disperate.
-
Staff believes he is gone. Looking for contingencies as I type this
-
Hey, now we know how Minnesota feels.
-
fucking worthless fish. His two biggest gets outside of the instate guy are gone.
-
In an uncapped CFB landscape, UW doesn't have a chance (as is true for 95% of schools) unless they can reel in some actual big fish donors. Scholarships and limits were a form of a cap. NIL did away with that. Maybe we? get lucky and in two more years there's a spending cap on how much NIL money can be earned or something along those lines.
-
it was this way at Arizona too. He got t mac because of fifita, not any recruiting prowess. He’s not the best recruiter. Also, lots of people look at his record of being at places for under two years then bouncing. I mean really, let’s just assume we have 10 wins in back to back years. I’m more confident that lanning will be in Oregon year three than fisch is here. It just adds to the hesitation some parents may have
-
No matter what happens with Fisch, UW needs very very wealthy donors to step up. I don't think any of us have $1 or $5 million lying around.
-
Lanning isn't going anywhere, unless it's to the NFL. Oregon is a destination program at this point.
-
Christ man get it together. No it isn't. Who stayed there besides Belotti?
-
What is a better college gig right now? Georgia? Smart isn’t leaving anytime soon. Ohio State? He just beat them.
He’s got the number one program in America right now. He’s got more resources at his disposal than any coach in America. He can make as much money as any college coach in America.
I get the duck hate. I hate them too. But Christ man get it together. Reality is a bitch but denying it makes you look stupid.

Oregon is a great job for a coach and it took a lot to get the last two good ones they had out of there. Chip got an NFL job at a decent franchise with a ton of control and still from what I remember was having second thoughts because Phil was offering him the world and it may have been the NCAA kicking him out for cheating that got him out of there. Mario got offered to try and be the savior of his (deep pocketed) hometown program and alma mater with the AD being his good friend and even then there was talk about Phil convincing him to have second thoughts.
There's unlimited next level money for you as there's talk about the Nike stock thing on top of unlimited money for roster building. You're also now in a power conference that's not the SEC and the only powers who aren''t fucked up right now is coached by Ryan Day and James Franklin.
You also have the most psycho never quits comms team just hyping the shit out of you to media and social media constantly.
It's a good gig and the stability all that provides is appealing in recruiting.
-
I’ve said this again and again and only received fuck offs. It was only a matter of time before the top rated recruiting classes amounted to something. Regardless of how many dudes portaled or the other doog excuses, if Lanning can stay out of his own way they will continue to be a playoff contender.
-
lol. They barely play their own recruits. It's not the high school kids being developed or having so much talent.
9/11 transfers starting on defense and 6/11 on offense. Oregon, unless they whiff in the portal will never have personnel weaknesses along with a handful of other programs. -
If only poor old Worshington could compete with those few schools
Of course We Can't tm
Oregon has a lot more than just Phil paying up
In all seriousness I'd think 3 times before giving UW money. They aren't serious
-
I don't pretend to know our boosters and contributors to the program, but it's obvious they are not as rich as Oregon's and to your point don't care as much.
Based on last year seems like we have people that will spend sometimes but not all the time. -
Yeah in the past few years the only in-house TBS star guys doing much for Oregon have been Franklin and Conerly, and now DJU's younger brother and the rest have just been portal guys and try hard guys the TBS dudes didn't actually want. They're not the only ones doing it though. Texas, Ohio State, and others have relied plenty on the portal. It's great for them because you can easily make up for lack of development by buying players other schools developed. If you have enough money to blast it for the best portal guys you never have to rebuild unless you're really bad at it like USC.
UW and all the schools down the line pretty much do the same thing now but I think the variance in development importance and how good guys are coming out the portal is a way way way more top heavy favored than it is coming out of high school.
-
UW is serious but is much more likely to deploy dollars for experienced players. But UW has about half the NIL dollars as Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M, etc.
I personally strongly dislike what people like Phil Knight have turned CFB into but have donated to Montlake Futures while waiting for things to unfold. Have you?
-
Serious but half the money isn't serious
-
More people will need to donate since a mega booster doesn't seem to be forthcoming. Have you donated?
-
Why would I?
They aren't serious. I don't enable failure
-
Complaining but doing nothing to help. Got it.
