The Costco thread

I feel this deserves its own thread to update cool Costco buys, news, etc.
Over the last couple of years I bought some Cascade Mountain Tech camping equipment from them. Until last week, they remained in their box in my garage. I finally got to use the camp tables and bench this past weekend and they were great!
I don’t think I ever regretted a Costco impulse purchase, which is why the place is so dangerous to my wallet.

Bruh !!

I got these yesterday. They come as a pair. I don’t think I’ll use the fanny/waist pack. They are more robust than my other clear backpack. Solid zippers and straps.
My local Costco also has UW tailgate tents, hats, and other gear on stock currently.
-
I got the game day bags a couple weeks ago. Headed there right now after work. Wish me luck that I only get the three things I actually wanted
-
I found that the best way to waste money at Costco is to go with the mrs.
-
My local Costco went from being 30/70 UW/WSU to 0/100 UW/WSU after last year's Natty run and Pac 12 exit.
-
I used to laugh at anyone in Costco buying 1 thing. Now I’m the guy buying 1 thing there.
Mrs Nacho got new tires on her Volvo there and it was a great deal.
-
Costco tires always looks like a shit show to me. Discount Tire or GTFO.
-
Back when I was a childless cat lady, I went there once a quarter. Now with a family of 4, I’m there ever 2 weeks. These little pisses eat me out of house and home.
-
You should see me have a lot of hate in my life when I have a few beers at the brewery next to Costco and then think it's a good idea to walk into the Costco just to get one of their 4-packs to take home..
-
But it’s warm !!
We buy a lot more wine than beer at Costco as we don’t have enough fridge space typically.
-
I rarely go when my wife and kids go because the reality is that while there's a lot of stuff for kids to eat or basic needed products in bulk, almost none of the food for adults is even remotely healthy.
-
I don’t, mang. I think you can find plenty of healthy grown up food at Costco. I think they have a great butcher shop. I get my Bobs steel cut oats there, chick peas, etc, etc
-
You can buy meat and produce anywhere. All of their shit is frozen/processed/canned stuff for fat people.
-
But it’s the economy of scale. Their 3 pack or Kirkland signature organic ground beef is a great value.
Also you can pry the Kirkland Signature Frozen Lasagna from my cold, dead 24 BMI hands !!

I just end up walking around the store and walking out with almost none of the food. Most of it's not good for you.
Also Costco sticks out as a store that has the most people that just act completely put-off if anyone or anything is within 10 feet of their fucking 2 shopping carts full of bullshit.
-
You guysm don't even know what Costco is until you've braved the Bellingham store. I call it "Canada's Costco.". ILTCIT.
-
YBE.

I usually walk out of Costco with a bag of dried mangos, licorice, and some chocolate/caramel/nut cluster things. If it's in season I'll get a dozen of their carrot cake muffins. That's after circling the store 2-3 times.
-
Aka China's Costco. Been there with my father in law. It is hell. Worse than the one on 99 in Lynnwood.
BTW, Costco steak is twash because they blade tenderize them which introduces bacteria into the tissue. Technically means you should not eat any steak from there that's not cooked well done. The pork butt they sell is also not good because it's basically fileted apart to remove the bone and then wrapped back together.

God damn it, pal. Moments like this make me question being an online bro.
Myself and countless other millions of Americans have been happily eating medium rare Costco ribeyes and filets (I usually buy the Prime grade) w/o issue. -
I'm perplexed at Costco's food offerings being unhealthy vs. every other store in America, instead of it being determined by what you actually buy.
Things I buy in bulk from Costco:
Walnuts
Organic Peanut Butter
Eggs
Greek Yogurt - plain
Coffee
half and half creamer
Butter
Raspberries
Limes / Oranges
Spinach (salad)
Chicken Breasts
Occasionally Pork Belly, Pork Butt/Shoulder, or steaks (I had not considered Bleached Anus Dawg's claims on those meat cuts, but if I am going to trust someone for meat quality, it is going to be the poaster Bleached Anus Dawg)
bottled water
health TBD items:
granola bars for on the go
Coke Zero
Booze
Cereal (this is rare)

Blade tenderized is crap. Their Prime is not treated that way, but they do that with the Choice. My man Guga agrees with me.
-
I’m gonna look closely at the labels next time to verify the USDA prime which is what I usually get. By law they have to say if it’s treated with said process.
-
I buy all the limes and NZ grass fed butter.
-
Things I buy at Costco:
Kirkland Brand Lube
Kirkland Brand dissolving condoms
Dog Treats
More clothes than I'd like to admit.
Hard boiled eggs.
TP
Paper Towels
Lightly breaded chicken
Gyro meat
Feta Cheese and other cheeses as well.
Sliced meats (turkey, chicken, ham, roast beef, pepperoni, salami)
$1.50 hot dogs
Bacon bits
Precooked bacon.
Artichoke Jalapeno dip is solid

We had friends over last weekend and I saw that they both were wearing the ubiquitous Puma low cut socks sold at Costco. It was somewhat depressing to see people a few years younger than me slowly accepting their suburban parental fate of buying everything at Costco to save a few bucks.
-
Most of my golf shorts are from costco. Honestly I get more compliments on them than I do the ones I've purchased at Puetz or other golf retailers. A lot of recent christmas gifts have also been purchased at Costco, so I just roll with it. I draw the line at Kirkland branded jeans. I'm a huge fan of under armor socks and pick those up on amazon.
-
We buy bully sticks for the pooch there. Poop bags whey they have them. Also the chicken jerky dog treats.
-
Yellow microfiber shop towels
Blue paper shop towels
Batteries
Bailey's for coffee
Giant blocks of Tillamook cheddar
