The George Floyd riots are just red meat for MAGA voters. Same old same old. Tried it in 2020, didn't work, and it definitely won't now, especially for a GOP trying to court the black vote. Voters have already spoken on George Floyd nationally against the sitting president who loved the riots, and Minnesota voters reelected the sitting governor at the time.

You react to a motto without the context behind it w.r.t diverting resources towards community policing, mental health, alternate enforcement strategies, etc, and how it was in theory meant to push for reform w.r.t. aggressive policing, mass incarceration, etc, particularly against blacks, because the status quo wasn't and still isn't working.
It was a terrible motto, created by the Black Visions Collective after Floyd, amplified by some on the left during the BLM movement, amplified to the extreme on the right as a political tool, disapproved of by both sides, and it died years ago, for good reason. It was dumb as shit.
No police department was ever defunded and the problems and the need for new solutions still exist.

To "evolve" late in life on guns is a giant red flag to me. In 2016 he was being ranked as a top 20 pro-gun Governor, and less than 10 years later he is signing sweeping gun control measures into place. That means he never had any values in the first place.
