are we going to touch on the weeks hot topic of buttholes?
-
-
the season in review was amazing TBH
-
Really? I think we killed it because of lack of enthusiasm. I'm getting pretty depressed how little reflection there has been on the season.
-
-
I'd like Stalin to offer a moment of on-air reflection on a comment given today by his former boss.
"Jen is arguably the best AD UW has ever had. Some will say Mike Lude. I wasn't a big fan. He had DJ." -Kim Grinolds
-
That is what finally got me banned from their site. Telling those morons that Jen was in way over her head.
-
There was so much loaded onto this season besides the fact that it was a legit title run. It's definitely a good idea to take a break and not immediately jump into the absolute Lemon Party that is modern recruiting/X.
And I think DeBoer endured himself to the average fan a lot more than Fisch and his salesy kind of personality. So some burnout was to be expected.
-
Question for the pod: how LIT was that Pac 2 Media Days in Vegas?
Do you think that Butch T Cougar and whatever the fuck they call the beavlet stood outside of Allegiant Stadium with cardboard signs to try and get into the Big 12's media day?
-
-
Unless I missed it y'all only did the first 4 games. My message was sarcasm on how that idea just died. I absolutely think it would be worth it to finish that off. That was a once a quarter century team, at least until proven otherwise.
I'm still more mad at Deboer leaving for Bama the way he did because it prevented us from celebrating all that the team did accomplish. The Sugar Bowl to the hiring of Fisch was like 5 entire offseasons crammed into 2.5 weeks. I get that the CFB calendar is the real culprit but we never recognized those dudes appropriately.
-
how bout an in depth discussion on how we? can help our mighty Dawgs going forward w/ Montlake Futures… I’m curious if the title run from last year will boost donations. Or have any sway at all. I’m not talking the whales here, just the average Joes like me and you.
-
I don't know man I am kind of burnt out on the NIL bullshit from all offseason. College football becoming basically a fucking venture capital operation is not what I'm interested in. Makes me wish I was just a fucking 12. I'd rather spank bank on last season.
I'm not even mad at DeBoer anymore and am letting myself just accept we'll never know if what and how it went don't affected the game against Michigan or not. I'm almost more mad at Petersen for bitching out and never being able to hire a dynamic OC, let him cook, and be the QB guru.
-
Is it true that we’re delivering a cake to Ballmer’s house?🏠🎂
-
I think that’s the discussion.. I’d like to think UW has the fan base to compete financially w/ the other heavy hitters, but will they? I’m guilty, not buying season tix anymore, buying merch, NIL etc.. But that was one hell of a ride last year and fun. Didn’t mind spending the coin to enjoy it.
-
There's nothing more soulless than the Seahawks and all their pretend rivalries and their dumb stadium in a dumb league. As lame as the cfb offseason has gotten, the NFL is just a bad product unless you're into gambling/fantasy.
-
Seahawks are gay but I find myself following them more this offseason than possibly ever. Probably a mix between the Grubb/Huff/new coach thing and UW’s post DeBoer hangover.
-
yeah I have no actual interest in being a generic regional NFL fan. Getting into the prime Super Bowl run teams was legit fun and those teams had character. Now the NFL is more fun as a casual fan who isn’t living or dying with one team.
beyond the NIL begging for money bullshit the loss of strong regionalism in college football has been stupid. Programs like Bama, Georgia and Ohio State now constantly having cornerstone players from out west is pointless as is a school like Oregon having almost zero players on their entire roster from their state. And yes I’m aware UW is damn near heading in that direction too
-
I am trying to get into the new era. It’s hard. But I’m getting there. My kid being ALL IN is helping somewhat as I have to argue against PSU.
But the new era is here and she’s fully in on it. She will be attending B1G media days in 2 weeks. So I will keep caring and our Dwags better perform. -
Being around Oregon fans and Portland for so long, including during the Chip years, if anything was going to kill my love for college football it would have happened already.
That being said there are new problems.
-
The Chip years of UW I was dooging enough and happy enough to be winning enough to be happy with bowl games. I also fell for the trap that Sark's recruiting and making big dick hires like Wilcox and Tosh etc was eventually going to level the program up, and it kind of did. It also always seemed like Chip was going to leave Oregon at any minute and they were going to get punished by the NCAA and Stanford was going to slowly regress.
Then the Petersen hire and 2016 opened things up again. Maybe the off season natty noise is just so loud this fucking year combined with everything that happened bad starting after the kickoff against Michigan that has me down?
Would I feel the same if like realistically the players who could have came back came back (DJ, McMillan and/or Polk, Rosengarten, 3 IOL, Muhammad, and maybe even Trice? I guess that's just part of the horrific timing of everything.
-
The off-season natty noise perpetuated by 20 something kids and fat losers sitting in their basements in Eugene and Columbus has made X virtually unusable. For me.
And yes we have some of our own terrible fans that have brought up the Oregon victories over them way too much. So much of the season was glorious that those fans don't seem to care about. Ass blasting Cal as a send-off. Overcoming the Palo Alto shit. I probably talked more shit to opposing fans at the Utah game more than any other. Speaking of regionality, going to the Oregon State game and celebrating in my hotel was something that won't be replicated going forward, etc.
I'm pretty fired up that UW went out and hired a proven head coach that knows how to be a CEO instead of doing what UCLA did. The rivalry's with the B1G teams is going to be fun.

Can we get an 'In Memoriam' moment for the following posters now no longer with us:
@PurpleBaze A.H.M.D.
@oregonblitzkrieg gone like building 7 (TITTT).

Is she going as a fan or does she have a role with PSU athletics?
-
Got on the PSU football beat for the student paper. So has a press pass for every event and game, including road games. Supposedly they go to all road games but USC is the one unknown right now. No one said “oh you have to go to B1G media days” until last week.
They pick 4 total to write for football so she either got really lucky or isa technically gifted writergood at writing. She covered men’s hockey last year and did pretty well with every story she wrote so I guess they figured she could handle the only sport bigger than hockey at PSU and be the only girl on the beat. After every PSU commitment someone on staff has to watch the kid’s high school tape and provide some breakdown about what PSU is getting in the recruit. I told her she’s a teen boi stalker now and she has been actually using that phrase when she gets the assignment. My next goal is to get a HCH-ism into an article.

We just did a 30 minute pod but there were audio issues we could not resolve. Just now I went and listened to some of it and its unlistenable. I/we are going to look into Riverside again and see if we can find a reasonably priced method to record our shows going forward that will provide better audio quality.

Both Woolley… and I… had to talk… like… William Shatner
-
It's a shame. I had so many things to say. Namely, my list of enemies.

Quooking was bad enough in Chehalis. I can imagine how bad it is in your neck of SWWA. I rarely see Oregon fans here in CdA. Mostly Cuogs, Griz, and Donkeys.
